Re: My new 64

I saw that truck in Columbus to, but it disappeared in a cloud of smoke after a straight 6 minute burnout in the hotel parking lot. Then I heard that after the rear tires were changed so was the small block.

Re: My new 64

Man I didnt' know there was a thread on this truck. I like, I like

As for the change in wheels I personally wouldn't do it because what your rolling on now makes the truck look just awesome, but if you have to change you have to change.

I won't hate you for long.

The smoke was not only from the tires but from the wall of fire we were riding the "vintage" mini bike through! Surprised nobody went to jail that night...

Re: My new 64

c10addict,

Can you get the specifics of the current rolling stock? Sizes & BS-ing plus tire sizes? Are the hub caps the early style 52 Chevy caps?

I freakin love this thing! There was a sweeeeeeeeet short fleet @ the GoodGuys FT.Worth show today. I'll get some pics of it & post them tomorrow.

Re: My new 64

Hey Scoti

Dont know what ear th centers are from and I will get you the other specs you wanted.. I actually scored a set of 15x7 and 15x8 torq thrust d's with the textured gray centers tonight.. Just have to change the truck over to 5 lug now... I think they will really fit the look of the truck... Here are more pics.. I have changed the rear tires to 265/65/15s since these pics so the truck sits a little lower in the rear...

Re: My new 64

How were the hinges done since it looks like the tubs were modified right where the OE hinge attaches @ the inner fender?

Drop spindles or no?

Hood hinges are off of a 57 chevy truck... Welded up a 2x4 box to the firewall to attach them too then fabbed an area under the hood to attach them to.. I will take closer pics.. It does have 2" drop spindles... Sorry I havent got the wheel specs yet but I will!

What a great looking old school truck!

IMO, leave the wheels on it that are there, and save your money. That truck is killer!

Hinge pics would be great if possible. Wheel specs aren't that big of a deal. Tire sizes would work too.

Did they just cut out the top of the inner fender-well & fender to allow for tire clearance & then built the cover to keep it clean or is there more to it? Also.... maybe a pic of the DM upper a-arm mount & shock mount vs. the inner fender-well. I know there's got to be interference here but I can't picture how bad it is in my head.

Are the rear bags/shocks in the stock location?

Re: My new 64

Rear bags are mounted to a cross bar welded on the kp notch... shocks are are mounted the same way.. Stock innter fenders are completely gone and new metal ones made... I will get pics this weekend... I promise! Been too damn busy lately! Tire sizes are 215/65/15 front and 275/60/15 rear... Front tires are a little smaller than I would like but they do not rub when turning and I run it LOW!
