Re: New Truckin' Magazine C10 issue
Well I finally got mine yesterday. I gotta agree that the black 4X is awesome!! Now I want a 4WD. I like the shop truck in the very back too.
And I really like yours YOLO, it's just blows my mind. The others (67-72) are just too busy IMO. Don't get me wrong, there is some amazing workmanship going on there, and a few ideas that I would like to steal. But it looks like people do as much crazy stuff as they can to be in a magazine. Sometimes LESS IS MORE.

Re: New Truckin' Magazine C10 issue
I can uderstand that. When you have that much money is something it is a true SHOW TRUCK. Some people say "but you cant drive it". I am OK with that. I did not build my truck to put a ton of miles on. If I owned that black 64, I would not put many miles on it. Paint is expensive. Blow and air bag, even more expensive if you are moving down the road. I have gotten board with my 63 so I drive it about 25 miles a month. That is a lot for me.

Re: New Truckin' Magazine C10 issue
Picked up my copy yesterday. I will say that Yolo and that black one are by far my favorites. The attention to detail was off the chart.
I showed my wife that blue one and she said. "If your planning on making your truck look like that think again. You will complain if you get a scratch on it." Of course I laughed and said I don't have the mind set to build something that clean and straight. |

Re: New Truckin' Magazine C10 issue
That is a good issue.. Truckin needs to get back to the basics. Mark, your truck looks sweet, it gave me inspiration to keep my 63 big window and build it later instead of redoing the 62 small window.

Re: New Truckin' Magazine C10 issue
Thank you Kyle4381.
I have been getting emails and phone calls from everywhere. Guys saying "I want my truck to look just like that, how did you do the abc..........." That makes me feel like I did something right when others want to build their truck similar to mine. Its a cool feeling.

Re: New Truckin' Magazine C10 issue
i got a question, where can i find, if possible, the tinted/black park and tail lights that are on the black truck in truckin mag.
does anyone know where i can buy/find these? besides buying clear lenses and spraying the inside black which is probably the way it was done........

That is the ONLY way to do it. No one is selling Euro or Tinted lights for that body style.

Re: New Truckin' Magazine C10 issue
ahhh, i thought for some reason i would have somthin done the easy way for a change. i've done it before on bikes, i think i might see what it looks like since i tu toned my truck, i had bought the clear lens a while back to do this , but now that i see them on a truck i might give it a shot.

Re: New Truckin' Magazine C10 issue
Nick, I think the clear on the silver looks much better. Doing a tint on the turn signal lenses would make it stand out more against your silver. Just my opinion. I plan on using the clear lenses, so I don't have orange against the dark green

Re: New Truckin' Magazine C10 issue
I have actually dyed plastic parts before. You can get clothing dye at a drug store and do it on the stove in a pot (just not too hot!). One word of caution is that some blacks can look brown when not fully tinted. I'd go with a dark grey.

Re: New Truckin' Magazine C10 issue
Wow seeing your truck in white when you got it to now is simply freaking amazing.
I'd like to know how you saw that vision from the white thing to now. I did see your drawing and that made complete sense. Congrats on the Hot Wheel too. Heck I thought it would of been cool to put a Hot Wheel decal on my truck some day when its done, but to see my truck as a real Hot Wheel would be off the charts. |

Re: New Truckin' Magazine C10 issue
Sweet truck. I love the seats with the baseball stitching.
My favorite is the MattHughes only because I want to put a Duramax in my 64 2WD Stepside. |

Re: New Truckin' Magazine C10 issue
kizer and tiggamonsta....... thank you for the nice post. I really appreciate the words. When I had the concept of this truck 4 years ago, the original plan was a duramax. In the end, it was a budget thing.
