Re: Just a kid with a dream
If you decide to go with an aluminum radiator let me know and I'll put you intouch with the folks that made mine. They are the bomb and cheap.

Re: Just a kid with a dream
Welcome to the board! Its nice to have a few more guys around our age.
Similar story... I spent a year working at an engine shop doing tear-downs, machining, cleaning, whatever needed to be done. I got the job by telling them I would work for free (apprenticeship kinda thing), and I worked so hard they ended up paying me in parts. I hand built my 496 on my own with their help. You got yours runnin yet? Its all the stuff you didnt think of pre-swap that takes time... I put the motor in the truck well over a year ago and still havent gotten her fired up (im away at college pretty much year round)I cant wait to hear what kind of numbers it puts down!

Re: Just a kid with a dream
I'm seventeen and Ive blown two small blocks in the last year and payed and built them both back up myself, so i feel ya!
I also dislike the tuner crowd, mainly because my 350 Chevy with a decent cam and some big heads with smoke the quickest LS based truck at my school, no questions asked! Have fun with the truck, it my be slow going but don't loose interest!

Re: Just a kid with a dream
Turbohacker,
Not all of us that drive LS based vehicles are part of the "tuner" crowd. Don't hate the technology or the advantages it has over old school carb stuff. They both have their places and worth.
