Re: Slim's Gym truck build
If you want to buy that and trade me for my 2 trucks I would rather have a 5 window any day over a 3 window. Damn

Re: Slim's Gym truck build
they go between the bottom of the rad support and the inner fenders to hold the middle on the grill splash valance together. yhe valance that i am talking aboun is on the left side of the pic twards the front.

Re: Slim's Gym truck build
Hahahaha...don't feel bad man. I found them in my spare parts box and walked around my truck about ten times scraching my head. I threw them back in the box hope'n my truck would still drive down the road without blowing up. I took pictures of most everything before I removed it to ensure I knew where it went. I must have skipped that one. It's funny, now I remember taking them off...LOL Thanks for help'n me out too.

Re: Slim's Gym truck build
My problem is that I welded the friggin 3 piece valance together and installed all the rest of the front clip together. Now I have to take it apart again. Do I really need those 2 parts?

Re: Slim's Gym truck build
Ok I see that 20's can fit in front if your gonna lay frame, but what about the rear fenders? How do they fit with the tire with all the bracing in the way? I want to try and keep the body as original as possible. The tires are 245/35/20

Re: Slim's Gym truck build
What do you have? Any pics? I have seen them online anywhere from $425 to $600 without the cost of shipping. What where you looking to get for them?

I had mine blasted and primed and I didn't think they were that bad but the body man is lazy and he said it was too much work? for him and to look into new ones. So depending what i can get a new set for these may be for sale, they are a little rough on the side of one of them but no rust.

Re: Slim's Gym truck build
Well I havent gone any further on my build because starting Monday Im going to take a class in welding. Im really to the point where I cant go any further, its all replacement panel stuff. I have everything from my Heidts mustang suspension and rear 4link to all the cab replacements. This welding class is supose to last for 9 weeks so I guess Im stuck till then. I figure I should start doing my own restore builds and let the pro's do all the fine tuning.
On a good note I finally got my girl into my passion for old school autos. She acutally helped me put together my own rust removal tank. Now all I need is for her to stop posing for pics and pick up a wrench and get dirty.

Re: Slim's Gym truck build
Thanks guys. I start welding class tomorrow and hopefully its more hands on rather then sitting around taking notes. Im ready to start replacing sheetmetal and installing the frame parts. I already have the concepts down on what needs to be done, now all I need is some skills with the old torch

Re: Slim's Gym truck build
How would you guys repair this pitted part of the panel without using bondo? You cant poke a hole throught it and it has strong metal on the inside.

Re: Slim's Gym truck build
I would media blast it then skim coat it with evercoat. It's not that bad! Don't grind on it you'll remove too much of the metal.
