What is your VIN#? Mine also has super sport listed on the SPID. The only ones I have seen like that were built in the St Louis plant. VIN should start CCE142S...the "S" being for St Louis

I believe that when my cab was taken off and dipped or sand blasted the PO decided to not put a new head liner in or cargo light for his own personal reasons and plugged the holes .....

Thanks for all the information on this and now on to other things.. papa

Wait.. I thought the Highlanders were dealer optioned Cheyennes? My Highlander does have a cargo light, but it does not have a headliner.

Re: I was told that a "TRUE" Cheyenne Cab has

Highlanders were custom deluxes- highlnder was a late 72 promo package to help move trucs off the lot to get ready for 73s. Highlanders can be odd trucks cas there were three packages that one could buy as well as the options already offered from GM- the cargo light is one such options you could order. Cargo light does not a cheyenne or super make but all cheyennes and supers had both the cargo light and the headliner, not as options but standard parts of the package. The dome light switch was also a standard on cheyennes/supers, but optional on everything else. Some custom deluxes I have seen have had more options listed on the SPID than like equiped cheynnes/supers, but that was because all of the things had to be bought seperately instead of the package offer by the cheyenne. There are several things that people don't know about when "faking" a cheyenne/super, one of which are the holes in the roof for the headliner, the cargo light, door jamb switches the dust shields between the fenders and doors and the special insulation located behind the dash. All of which the absence of are good indicators of fakes.

So only cheyenne's and cheyenne supers had door switches for the dome light? or it was only standard on them??

Re: I was told that a "TRUE" Cheyenne Cab has

I think the jamb switch was a part of the custom comfort and convince package, which was a part of both the custom deluxe as well as cheyenne packages and standard on them.
