bronze bushings and press them in.We found by doing that it alows the hinges

i have those hinges as you know justin, they are a pain if you have a cowl hood! We ar attempting what you told me this week so hopefully your advice works. How long you think before we see those inner fenders!

We are aware of the issuses with these type of hood hinges.We have modified them to work in are application.
Are customer Mike is the editor of Sports truck magazine
and he got the hinges from Sachcea after he order some
other hinges from a different shop and never got them.
On the inner fender wells we should be ready to start shipping in 4 weeks and will have some pictures to post.

Real nice truck and your fab work is nice too.

I like smooth firewalls myself but to me that firewall seems to be needing some sort of bead roll detail somewhere..........dont get me wrong its a great looking piece and Im sure when painted will be spot on,just thinking outloud here that its needing some detail seam or something.

Anyone else?

I guess i can see what your talking bout. Just depends on your taste. Most firewalls that i have seen on custom cars and trucks have been similar to scotts , just flat all the way across. If you added a seam it would give it a little more detail. I'm sure they could do whatever someone wanted given their level of fab skills.

We agree on what you are saying, are customer wanted it smooth
and when we install the hood hinges onto the firewall you will see on what we do there do add some detail to the firewall.When we install are custom fender wells we made for truck they flow into the firewall real nice.

Please keep in mind, we can make any style or design firewall for your truck
you might be after.

Example, if you have a custom belt line or body line you would want in your
firewall to add some detail please let us know when ordering we will add it
for no extra charge.

I've always felt that extending the floor pans a few inches forward would be an easier "stretch" then cutting/adding to the center or rear of the cab for more leg room. Nicely done!

Obviously, give the customer what he wants. And for those of you considering this product, take Justin up on his offer to mod. We don't need 1980's "flat = shaved" style to make a comeback... unless, of course, you're going to use the space to sell ads.

Justin- the firewall looks great! i can't wait to sit inside the truck again with more legroom. I've only driven it a handful of times since finishing the chassis and making it run and since I'm 6-1", it was tight in there.

and i hear what people are saying about it being completely smooth, but once they see the inner fenders and new hood opening you guys are making and all the other accessories, it wont look like such a large, flat, expanse of metal.

the February '09 issue of Sport Truck has the wiper cowl mod article in it. It goes on sale on the 9th of december.

as for the truck in person...Im hoping to drive it this spring and maybe roll to some shows this summer.
