Great looking truck!
Can we see a few more shots of the fuel filler area?

Re: MY 71 IS FINALLY FINISHED! "for now"
Love the truck. My favorite wheels and what will make me switch to 5 lug. But switch to an auto? I would look for a 5 speed. Just my preference.

Re: MY 71 IS FINALLY FINISHED! "for now"
I know I've tought about that too or a 4 speed, but I'm concerned that the shifter will hit my bench seat. what do you think?

Re: MY 71 IS FINALLY FINISHED! "for now"
If going the typical Chevy T5, an S10 tail section will move the shifter forward. If a 4 speed, Hurst has that covered. I have not done a search on this group for T5 info. Hope no one minds, but search T5 on: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/
I like the T5 as it is ideal with 3:73 gears and still allows overdrive for mileage on the highway. The one I will be changing to came out of a Camaro and should handle the way I drive on the street...mostly.... |

Re: MY 71 IS FINALLY FINISHED! "for now"
I would ditch the 3 spd for a car 4 or 5spd which of course would put the shifter in the floor, personally instead of switching to an auto. I love the truck BTW.

Re: MY 71 IS FINALLY FINISHED! "for now"
I really like the truck but have to admit... you need a new custom steering wheel now. With everything else you did to the truck I hate seeing those "astro van" steering wheels.... only mentioned it since you asked what we thought... tranny options are up to users preference... auto is nice for cruising...
Very nice ride though... any before and after pics? timeline?

Re: MY 71 IS FINALLY FINISHED! "for now"
I'm a lurker by trade. (Lurker...one who sits behind his computer screen and enjoys the photo work of others).
I usually just sit back and watch the pics that roll by. I have to say...not as a professional, but one who knows what looks nice, looks good, looks fantastic, and what works. And i know...i have a very nice chev. NICE JOB bro. You make fellow chev bro's jealous..that's the trick. Looking at your truck is much like looking at the "Mona Lisa". No wonder why she smiles.....she Lov's them Chevy's...just like the rest of us. BIg JoHn |

Thanks for the comment, It took me about 4 years working on the truck on and off, I wouldnt even look at it for months, then I would look at the turck pics on this site and that would motivate me to keep working on my truck. I have a lot of pics on the link below my sig.
