Re: chrome rallys

Here's a crappy cell pic of my truck, 17" chrome rallys just went on. I do agree they're a little generic, now I wish I would have gotten 17 gray with beauty rings instead:

Re: chrome rallys

Well I here it is. Nothing fancy but cleaner than truck rallies.

I went with 8X15 with 4.5in backspace & 10X15 with 5in backspace.... figured I could always add spacers but couldn't tuck in if not enough backspace.
For my front end, with dropped spindle/disk conversion, 4.5 was too much as it just scraped the caliper.... put a quarter inch spacer on fronts.
For the back I could of gotten away with 4in backspace (guess I have one of the narrow rear ends). I already had 1 inch spacers on the back and just left them on.

Re: chrome rallys

I love the Corvette rallies. They are one of my favorite rims of all times. I kind of have 8 lug versions on my 68 and I am probably going to get some for my 37 Chevy truck. I love the look of the silver like I have on my 68, but I am leaning towards dark green for my 37 because the fire wall is a dark green. I have never been too big a fan of the chrome rallies though. The only thing that sucks is that the repro center caps, or atleast the ones on my brothers 78 Caprice rust pretty quickly. Is car was sitting for a couple of months and his caps started rusting, so he just used some Coca Cola and aluminum foil and got it off of there. They don't make them like they used to though. My dad has a bunch of the original caps that have sat outside for a couple of years and they don't have any rust on them.

Re: chrome rallys

Doubt I'll have a rust problem...

Luckily I live where we only get about 6 inches of rain a year but it gets very hot ("but it's a dry heat" they say )

The tires are 255/60/15 & 275/60/15

Re: chrome rallys

Looking good! They really go nicely with the clean, simple lines of your truck. I think you've got exactly what'll take me the next couple years to get to. Nice truck.

Re: chrome rallys

Nice truck, I think the wheels look good everybody has different taste. I hate those big flat bladed 5 spoke wheels, but if you put those on your truck you would have a 100 guys sayin how good they look.
