Re: New Guy... just bought a 72 C-20

Welcome to the board from the Heart of Arkansas! It amazes me that you guys in Alabama keep finding those "Uncle Daniel" vehicles. We know they're out there. We just don't seem to find them as often as y'all do.

I'd like to see a pic of the SPID (sticker on the inside of the glovebox). It seems to me like you have an odd (yet cool) combo there. 350, 3 speed, AC, NO power steering. Just kinda unusual to me but still looks awesome.

x12 on the Nice Truck! I did the original look, and I say keep the 3 on the tree, too, until you get your big block and beefy 700R4. Don't forget your 4.11's when that time comes. Do you have a Dana or Eaton rear end?

just looking again, is that a dealer add on GM CB? and if my eyes don't deceive me, is that a an AM/FM?

did I say thats a NICE FREAKIN' TRUCK!!!
Its a vintage JC Penny CB radio... hahaha

Yes, it does have a factory AM/FM radio. It actually worked one time last week, and played music (sounded like crap), but the other times I tried it, all your hear is static crackling. I want to try replacing the speaker and see if that helps.

OK, I will take a pic of the sticker and post it... It shows exactly every option this truck has... there is nothing missing, and not a single thing modified (yet). 350 4bbl engine, Aux fuel tank, 4 season A/C, custom camper equip, olive green, heavy rear suspension, AM/FM radio, trailer wiring, chrome hub caps, step rear bumper. Kinda cool to have something unmolested. Like my wife says, its a 'clean slate' or a 'blank canvas' for me to build upon.

http://www.turnswitch.com/speakers.htm

If you need a speaker I purchased mine from above. They have direct fit 8-10 ohm speakers which will match your radio. If you buy a speaker that is not a true 8-10 ohm match it could possibly damage your radio. JMHO By the way...that is a beutiful truck and and I'm liken the Green. Also
kookykrispy.

Excellent buy! Take your time on the modifications so you have no regrets. Keep everything you take off of it that is original and enjoy your new "old" truck.
