I initially ordered the kit from One Piece Products (OPP) for my 1968. I have original doors and the kit did not work out too well. Ben, at OPP, was nice enough to refund my purchase less shipping and the restocking fee of 20%. Since my doors were modified for the OPP kit I decided to go with the Brothers kit. I am hoping to get it by early next week.

Don't be surprised if it's the same kit. I seriously doubt that there is more than one company making these kits.

For 73-87s...cwilke had a 67-72 kit for his truck, a 1968....and there are a couple kits on the market for those trucks.

I have the kit in my truck and it took several hours, lots of profanities and many calls to Ben at OPP but they are in and work good, my only advice is follow the instructions step by step dont jump ahead or you will have to go back and start over, Here is a shot of mine. If I had to do it all over again I would keep my vent windows, that being said if anyone is inetersted I would be willing to trade my stock GM doors with all power options and ventless windows for a set of GM doors with power options that are rust free and dont have speaker holes cutout in the bottom I would also like to get about 400.00 cash. Let me know if anyone is interested. I wont ship so we would have to be able to meet up somewhere for a trade.

I still don't have windows that go up or seal correctly. They go down fine. I just haven't had time to work on it. I still believe that since I had one of the first kits something was designed wrong with the kit.

Maybe with the amount of visibility this thread has, the manufacture will take your original kit and replace it with a newer version of the kit....?

My windows are in and go up and down fine. I do not like the outside weatherstrip they give you. I was looking for a universal rubber weatherstrip that was a half inch wider so it seals against the glass when the window is up. It takes a lot of fitting and grinding of the stock hinge bolts. If you take your time you will get it. I would install new power window motors when you are in there.

I have same problem on non power windows. I have to apply pressure/direction to window during roll up.

Nope...but I haven't had the time or money to take it to someone that might be able to get them to actually work as advertised either. Would have rather spent that money on an ls motor or something else. I'll probable scrap them and go back to vent windows. Yes, they don't work that bad! Spend your money on something else! I'm not trying to bash the product too bad but I am! I'll probably end up spending the same amount of money getting them to work that I spent on them and I bet they still won't work! I'm not a betting man either! Either way I'm screwed! Lol...

Ok, I have been playing with them for a while & have got them spot on.
You have to take out the door handle & flatten out the top bracket for the rear channel runner so it creates a straight line from top of the door to bottom, then move the whole window winder assy back 1/2 an inch & the same with the front runner, you will need to cut a bit out of the front inside door frame(mine has a support brace that hits the glass & its like a v in two spots) once you have the glass & runners in place & loosely nipped up in the door drill out the three spot welds holding the runner fixed to the door under the inside handle bracket(take the bracket off) make sure the slide is drilled off the door & don't drill thru it. Now move this down maybe 10 - 15 mm & the glass will line up with the back edge of the door in the felt runner. Weld it back on. If you don't move the winder assy back it hits the front bolt that holds the glass to the winder track & jams it up + pushes it forward. When you get everything backwards in the door the glass wont foul on the front of the door it will seal nice & wont wobble like the glass wants to fall out. Remember to put the second slider in the front track & take your time lining up the slides. You will have to trim the side off the door handle to fit behind the rear runner, you can get it to fit & can move the handle back in the door a little as well. If you get really keen there is now room in the front of the door to fit the bottom half of the front runner from the old glass(bottom of the wing glass) flat on the door frame, just cut it up a bit & bend the top side edges out a little to align the glass as it slides down. Find the same rubber seal as what was used from factory for around the the main frame & back edge ( the one in the kit is too big on the sides & pokes out everywhere) & use the thinner one that is still in the new front runner( if you go that far). I have used some spacers to align the front runner (from the kit) between the door body & runner to sit the glass in the middle of the door opening, this helps as well. if you decide to go ahead & make them fit & get stuck I will give you some more advice ... Put on some good music & stay calm, it was frustrating for me but if you can do it like this it wont be for you. I would come & do it for you but I live in Australia & have one of two sets here now I know why the bloke sold them to me! Great concept & awesome look just poor planning.

ty598, I don't quite get what you are doing. Of the last 10 kits I have sold, one had issues, the others have not. One of the 10 was a personal friend of mine and he never called me and got them in with no issues.
In this post is the one that had problems, prior to that, this is the only other issue I have heard of

My windows fit like factory & wind up and down perfectly now ......Before they sat nose down with a gap at the back top corner & flopped around a bit when they were half up & down. With what I have done they run in the back channel all the way up & down, foul on nothing & have room for the front slide I made stopping the front of the glass from touching anything in the way of long bolts or the spotted in nuts for the hinge, they run inside of them in I also changed the felt window surround to the same size as the factory fitted one & it sits smooth all the way around the window frame. For me near enough is not good enough. I have owned my body shop for 25 years so I have the ability to understand the issues & fix them. All said I still really like the kit & would do it again .....This way.
