If you can catch a homier tool sale coming thru your area they have a good hoist fairly cheap.

I got a used one , it was chained to a tree with a for sale sign on it 50.00,I oferd him 35, and got it for 40. I sold it after for 60.

Too bad it wasnt inside, i use a 6x6x10 across rafters in shop with a chain hoist and it works better than messing with a picker.

i actually have 2 huge railroad ties sticking out of the cround over my concrete pad that the last owner of this house used as a deer skinnin rack. it had a railroad tie across the top that he took with him. ya'll reckon that would be strong enough to hold?

Yeah, that's plenty strong. Just bridge it with something stout enough to hold a half ton or so (just to be safe) and get a comealong. You'll be fine.
