Here is the company that had the kits that they were talking about in the article. It says you have to call them for a price. They are called TurnKey Engines. http://www.turnkeyengine.com/

Re: What I did today...
No updates but I did talk with the guy that I got the truck from. He confirmed to me today that I could keep/use anything that I wanted off of the truck. He had said that to me before but since the truck is almost completely dissassembled, I wanted to confirm what was said earlier.
I may end up trying to use the disc rearend and swap out my 5 lug discs on the front for some 6 lugs. Going this route, I should be able to use the '03 MC/Brake Booster too(I think it will work-haven't checked it out yet). Not sure about the 6 lug swap though. I was really wanting to wind up with some 17" wheels, either TTII's or maybe some Coys C5's. Swapping to 6 lug would throw this idea out the window. Tomorrow I am planning on pulling the fuel lines, tank and remove the rear wiring harness. I think I have most everything else removed that I plan to keep except for the rear end.

Re: What I did today...
Yeah but aren't they 6 spoke vs 5 spoke? I looked at some a long time ago for my wifes Sub but just didn't care for them much.
Who knows-I may go 6 lug and just run steelies until i run across something else that strikes my fancy. The wife told me just a little while ago "It sure would be nice if you got it running before we go on vacation. You could follow us out there." Almost sounded like a challenge...

Yeah. We'll be leaving here on 5/25, arriving in Shawnee 5/26 and leaving on the 2nd or 3rd. I did have a thought though. The late model Tahoe/Sub 5 spoke/6 lug 20" wheels would look sweet on there!! Little bigger than I want but...

Re: What I did today...
Quick update for tonight...
I got the I6 out of the '64 today and pulled the cab too! I now have a frame sitting where there used to be a truck... I am starting to think that I may be I'll post pics tomorrow with some more details. I've been reading/posting for almost 2 hrs just trying to catch up.

Re: What I did today...
I don't have any pics of the truck before I started taking it apart. When I started on it yesterday, the front clip, seat and bed had already been removed at an earlier date. I had to put a rearend back under it and reinstall the springs so I could roll it around. I have already fittted/installed my CPP C-notch. Everything will have to come back apart for cleaning and paint.
Okay, here's a couple of pics of what it looks like now. These two were while it was up in the air And here's the cab sitting on my "Custom" cab rack... I need to build a dolly to roll the cab around on. I have some rubber-tired casters mounted on a 2x6 frame but it isn't big enough for the cab to be stable. It worked pretty good to hold up the back of my '56 sedan when I had to roll it around, though. I hope to get the rest of the cab stripped out today and maybe get the dolly modified for the cab. This may sound silly, but I wasn't planning on pulling the cab until I saw that the top rear transmission crossmember rivets were almost impossible to reach. Besides, the frame needed to be cleaned up and painted before I install the 5.3. I'll update tonight with some more pics. And yes, guys, I am motivated right now!
