Re: Anyone running one of these crazy things?

You are sooo right SUB! For some reason, most people think that since you are going to take the time and $$$ to chop it, you might as well take 4-6 inches off. These trucks look so good with just an inch or two off. It's a subtle change.....but to the trained eye of a hotrodder, they know what's been done!

They are the "slant nose" trucks. In the pic below, the rope represents the top of my hood. The top of the tape measure is the top of my Hilborn scoop. The bottom of my carbs will set right where the top of the air cleaner is. I'm super stokkkkked now. It's going to look bad-to-the-bone!!!!

Excellent measuring technique!
I gotta agree, it'll look sweet!

So, uh, ya gonna be sellin that K&N 14" setup...? LOL

Re: Anyone running one of these crazy things?

After seeing that truck with the scoop barely out of the hood, I had to "get 'er done" and pull off the tarp. I do agree that the rope was pretty clever. I have a 402 in the garage that will probably get the "induction" side of this motor. Those stupid K&N turds are spendy too!!!!

It sucks that my fastback can't use any of the chevy stuff I have in my garage. The Holley is about the only thing that will work.

Well, Damn! LOL
You're right K&N stuff is spendy! I use 'em on all my 4 wheelers. Just haven't found the extra $ to put 'em on the autos yet! LOL

Now I'm stoked for the "Get 'er done" pics! hahahaha

Manual brakes.... I suppose no power steering too? You a brave man!!! Hahaha

Re: Anyone running one of these crazy things?

Yes manual brakes.....that's all I need when I'm "rollin" in this thing. I did convert to power steering and a smaller steering wheel though. It was like driving a school bus!!! Even with "popeye" arms.....that's just too much with a BBC.

She will get 5 lug disc down the road. It's just not real important right now. $$$ will go to other things first.
