Re: 63 Short Fleet Build
Thanks all!
Yes only one hinge per door...tried the two hinge kit but had clearance issues so i found the single hinge kit. 22's all the way around 285's on the back and 265's front 35 series. I'll try to remember to get some close up pics of the drip rail. I've had several requests for that. Tom |

Here is the frame for the raised bed floor. The center section tilts up so I can access batteries, compressor, guns, ammo etc...
My painter fabbed those wheel tubs and did the framework! |

Re: 63 Short Fleet Build
The fuel door was a kit I ordered off Ebay. I cut off the facing plate it was mounted to and used the box structure and flap right through my bedside.

Re: 63 Short Fleet Build
Almost done with the fab work so I can get it back to my garage for wiring and plumbing.
Forward tilt hood sittin low couple shots of the tailgate... used some Mar-K products and also used the lower pivots off of a late model truck to make it easier to take off the gate! |

Re: 63 Short Fleet Build
your truck looks awesome. I have a porterbuilt x-member and going to run a ls1/4l60e also in my 64. Did you have to modify your firewall or trans tunnel? If so pics?

Re: 63 Short Fleet Build
Ruffrida- Thanks, those couple shots of the hood are all i've got right now....I got the hinges off of a late 90's buick park avenue I think. There was a write up on here that someone did and kind of used that for inspiration. The hood and hinges is one of the things that my paint guy has taken care of. It did involve quite a lot of fabrication to make it work and be sturdy.
Lownslw64- my truck originally had the low hump so I had to get a high hump and then do some cutting in addition to that to make it all fit nice. We also gave the valve cover area a little more clearance on the firewall but cutting and putting in some indentations. It did fit, but was real tight.
