Re: Why!?!

Why??
Why do people paint there car green?
Why do people install $3,000 worth of rims on a $1,000 car?
Why do people continue to watch OCC?

Because they like it.

I like it. Looks like it should be going down the track.
Bout the only thing I would change would be to bag it.

Re: Why!?!

I like it and in fact that is one of the coolest things about these trucks! You can't exactly do what you want with a camaro or Chevelle.... Lift it for a 4x4 or pre-runner, leave it stock, make it into a resto-mod or rat rod, pro street...long bed, short bed, stepside..... these trucks are very versatile for a varity of tastes which is why we got into them in the first place.

Much like my truck, not every one is going to like what I did, but I love my truck! It is excatly what I wanted! Just like what this guy did, it may not be my taste, but a lot of time and "love" went into building it. I love the trucks and appreciate what he did to make it his.

This is exactly what makes these trucks so special, they can be anything you want...

Re: Why!?!

Ya know? After seeing the hard work people on this site put into restoring on of our old trucks that wouldn't be that hard to fix.

Re: Why!?!

That may be the first time I've noticed the chop top occuring without the one piece door window treatment. If someone smashes out that window, that's no 5 minute fix. Not my exact taste of truck, but I'd give it a home.

Re: Why!?!

I don't know why he did it. It looks awful imo. I hate tweed. that is what your talking about right? lol. But seriously, I hate tweed.

When I saw this truck I just thought ''Mullet"" and def leppard blasting from it.

Re: Why!?!

I for one like it, although I think it would look better as a stepper and sitting lower. I plan (at least sometimes) to chop mine to just above the vent window hinge. Here's a quickly done photochop of what I have in mind.

Re: Why!?!

Like it or not, the truck was very "In" at one point. Pro Street, tweed, big motor (don't know about the chop). This is where the problem lies with following a trend. Once that trend is gone you're still stuck with the remains. I see lots of otherwise nice rides at shows with neon tube striping, heartbeat stripes, super wide (pro street) 15" tires, wings, spoilers, cartoon characters and the list goes on and on. Now if there's ever a retro movement to have cars built like they were in the 80s or 90s maybe they'll have their day in the sun again. Lots of guys are building cars to look like they were built in the 50s 60s and early 70s. I guess that's why I've left my trucks stock colors with stock interiors and kept the mods down to ride height, wheels and what's under the hood. It's anyones guess as to what we're doing now that others will look back at in 10 or 15 years and say.."why?". I'm sure someone was proud of that machine when it was finished and I'm sure if it sells the new owner will be proud of it as well. That being said...I wouldn't buy it unless it was a steal.

In the meantime try to stay dry...and look out for poles.

Re: Why!?!

True customizers build their stuff to proportion. Whackin the top that much just makes those big ,flat side panels look even bigger. If your are gonna chop it that much, then section the sides to match. What you have here is a customize job, half done. And while you are at it ,put on some skirts and,,,,(puke),,,I'm done.-KB

Why have all that engine in an Automatic?
Lots of skill and time in that truck, but still not my cup of tea.
