Re: new here, new truck
another quick question. Looking at one of the original ads, there were two 6 cylinder engines available, the "thriftmaster 6" and the "Jobmaster 6" what is the difference and how would I know what I have?

Re: new here, new truck
The Jobmaster was the 261. It was not officially available in the pickups.

Re: new here, new truck
I looked in my build thread and there is not a good pic of the rear bumper brackets, I will take a shot tonight and post it, will also show aftermarket tank location. Patrick

Re: new here, new truck
Here are two shots of the fleetside rear bumper brackets. In the one that shows the whole bracket if you look close you can see the part number still stenciled on the side of the inside bracket.

Re: new here, new truck
man that truck is sweet! I'd be tempted to leave the paint alone, that is some sweet patina! I'd lose the red mirrors though...the wheels, I dunno...
congrats! |

Re: new here, new truck
Thanks! I'm also seeing a license plate bracket at classicparts.com, does that just attach to the bumper, frame or what?

Re: new here, new truck
Look close at my picture and you will see two holes in the top of the center bumper recess. That is where the bracket goes. On mine I had a flip down model for access to a gas tank filler (before I ran a 69 Impala tank as a second tank, worked ok except when going up steep hills!). They are set towards the bed side so you can still use the bumper as a step.
