Re: Help!!!! Please!!!!
well, we're going to find out sometime soon. I just dropped off the truck at an auto electrical place to let them deal with it. So I'll let you know what they find out. Hopefully this can benefit somebody else in the future.

Re: Help!!!! Please!!!!
Well, after a $108 bill, it was the tank selector switch on the dash after all. The dumb@$$es at advance auto parts gave me the wrong switch. I'm really the dumbass. I should have known when I took the part out of the box. See, as some of you may already know, there are two types of selector switches out there. One that is a rocker type switch, and another that is a just a two position switch. I know that they are technically both rocker type, but one of them will depress one side and then spring back to almost center, while the other one just rocks over completely to one side or the other. the spring type also says, "DEPRESS FULLY" on the bottom of it, where the other one doesn't. Am I making sense? I'm not the best at describing things, but I think that the guys who have each type will know what I mean.
What boggles me though is that I dropped the truck off to them with the wiring harness going to the tank selector valve not plugged in. Now the truck runs like a champ, but the jokers never plugged the harness into the valve. I just looked out my back window and saw it hanging. I'm assuming that power splits off somewhere down the line? Whatever, it runs, and I can hear both pumps prime up with it disconnected. I hope this information helps somebody else out down the line. That is the first time I have gone to a shop for something in 10 years. And I KNEW it was going to be something stupid like that. Thanks again for all of you guys' help. |

Re: Help!!!! Please!!!!
yeah, I actually had the guy look up the part number, and show me a picture of it on the computer. I made him bring up every pic for the 4 different part numbers that they listed, and they all had the same pic. They only had one of the parts in stock, so I went with that. But that just goes to show ya!! I hate dealing with Advance Auto Parts anyways. This isn't the first time this has happened. I only went with them because they were open.
