x2 You guys won't be disappointed. He will refuse to give you parts until he is happy with them.
My personal experience...Kevin coated an air cleaner for me. The base was in good shape, but the top was very pitted. He coated and baked it 3 times and was still unhappy (not to mention stripping all 3 coats). He ordered the filler, applied and sanded 2 coats then reapplied a coat of semi gloss. In the end he refused to take extra $$ for the work. He will do any coating I need done.

Kevin, what would you charge for a set of spindles?

And what is your opinion on springs? Will the powdercoat hold up with the constant motion that are put through?

Any chance you might get into header coatings ? Got a set I built that I would like to coat some day.

Spindles: It depends on how much cleaning I have to do. Something like new spindles, 50 per pair. Max would go about 100 per pair if they are awful grease covered. Average price of 60 on most though. This price includes me degreasing them, baking them to outgas them, bead blasting them, powdering and curing. I take due diligence to threaded bolt holes, machined areas where the caliper fits, and the bearing spud itself. You won't have to do any clean up of powder overspray at all. Bolt on and go.

Here is a spindle that I did in a flat metallic vein powder. I can do glossy too of course, I just wanted something not too flashy.

Notice I threaded bolts into all threaded holes to protect the threads. Also, the machined areas where the caliper ride were masked off too, as well as the spud itself. No powder gets where it doesn't belong.

I feel like coil springs will withstand usage and movement very well. Years ago, I bought some Ground Force springs which were bright blue P/C out of the box and they still look great to this day.

Man, I *just* gave my headlight rings to someone to get em done. What would you charge for those? Shipping is to Austin (78703)

g/f's beetle needs some interior odds and ends done as well.

The only suggestion I might have is to change your avatar now that you are a vendor. Every time I see that I can hear the voice through the wall I will keep you in mind for when the need arises.

Thanks for the information Kevin, when I acquire the spindles I need you will be my first call.

I get 26 dollars a pair for headlight bezels. That does include return shipping through Priority Mail 2-3 day delivery. 20 for the job, 6 for the shipping.

This is a pair I did for another member last week. It ran him 26 dollars total including the return delivery cost.

I know you get asked this quite a bit, but how far outside DFW are you? I've got a buddy bucket frame that needs to be blasted and coated.

Re: I'm legit now, and I want your powdercoating business

I'm 25 miles west of Loop 820 in a town called Springtown.

As far as the buddy bucket frame and the grille loops, my oven is only 32 inches deep. I'm not sure they will fit.

Bigger oven is under construction though.

Re: I'm legit now, and I want your powdercoating business

I am coming back to Springtown, two weeks from this comng Sunday to visit some friends.

I would like to drop off the tailgate we talked about for the welding, my disk brake calipers, and maybe some engine brackets.

I am so glad you have found some thing to make some extra money and i would trust no one as much as I would you because I know you are honest and your attention to detail is first rate.

Thanks,
michael

Ok, cool. once you get that bigger oven, i've also got a thick rear bumper that needs to be done too.

Kevin, congratulations on your new status. Your stuff looks really great.

I'm in Weatherford, and would love to get some stuff done. In fact, I may have a lot before it's over. I will try to come to you with several things at once. I will PM you when I am ready.

Thanks,
Michael

Oh, yeah. Can you do a power brake booster? Or will the heat hurt the diaphram? If so, I may be ready now. Let me know. Now I know why you bought all those accelerators.

Measure the length of the grille hoops. I can do up to about 35 inches in my current setup. The headlight trim is no problem though.

Bring it on. I can do the gate and any P/C work you need done.

I wouldn't want to do a booster. There is a big rubber diaphram in there that probably wouldn't like the 400 degree temp.

Re: I'm legit now, and I want your powdercoating business

Sorry to bombard you with questions, but can you do a textured black finish similar to how a factory black plastic bezel looks? I realize it wouldn't be exactly the same, but hopefully from 10 feet away people wouldn't be able to tell a difference. I have an idea that I am working on down the road.

I can do a wrinkle black that would definitely be a good 10 footer match to factory bezel. Keep in mind this would be great on ashtrays and glove box doors, but the plastic bezel would melt.

Re: I'm legit now, and I want your powdercoating business

What if you were to try with a UV heat lamp? My dad was saying, in absence of a large enough oven, or when heat was bad (like forged alloy wheels) that using a UV lamp was a substitute for an oven.

Though, PC wouldn't stick to the plastic with out that plastichrome finish, eh?
