Row,most of the members here have done a lot of research on what they used. They have sifted thru the advice(just like you're doing) and have come up with what works best and with the least trouble.Since they all want you to be sucessful in doing this project, they are giving you the best info available. The other products probably work fine, they probably are easy for someone familiar with them to set up.The folks here have just become more familiar and comfortable with the BTO kit.

I do not think anyone of the guys who commented are trying to steer you wrong or sell anything. They are just trying to save you time and money. It appears to me you are going to do what ever you want to do anyway no matter what advise is given. GOOD LUCK.

Let's just stop all this bickering and drop in a 4-speed.

IMO, do it once and do it right. I'm wishing that I wouldn't have cheaped out on those motor mounts for my Jeep.

It is very simple, there is a pivot point on your carb (the shaft that runs through the body), where you locate the throttle cable, and where you locate the transmission detent cable affect how well your truck runs, and how long your transmission will live, All the kits you found are probaby better than just soomething that you had laying around, but maybe not?

It is a ratio that matters, if you want to research and build the right bracket, then cool, I would buy one that was engineered for the purpose personally, but my time is pretty valuable.

Re: Look at these pics...tell me what you think

I just wanna say thanx to all the people who sent me PM wishing me well on my "not-right bracket" project. If I do it my way and fail, then I only have myself to blame, right? So I got my driveline today, install tomorrow and hopefully I don't blow the tranny!!!

Re: Look at these pics...tell me what you think

sorry if I offended.
Most ppl don't know why it is so important, and I have yet to see a complete kit from anyone else that does it all, and does it right.
and for the record, I am 99% sure no one here is on there payroll. When something works, you let ppl know. When something doesn't work, you let people know. When a comment is made on how someone does this every day day in and day out.... like I said, that doesn't mean he knows custom instalations.
hope it all works out.
