Re: If You Could Build One.....
Unlimited resources? Man- where would I start.
Custom Tube Frame with extended '67 small window cab & Short Fleet bed. Shaved everything...drip rails, emblems, door handles, trim, etc... C4 Drop member in front running QA1 or Marvin Shaw billet coilovers Kugel Komponents C4 IRS in rear also with QA1's or Shaw coilovers. Falconer Motronic V12 Engine Getrag 6-speed, dual clutch tranny w/ Paddle shifters 13" disc brakes front and rear- 6 piston calipers in front, 4 hole clampers in back. 20" Budnik "Velocity" rims- black center with brushed aluminum rim. BFG G-Force Radials all around. Basically stock interior with buddy buckets and one-off Aurora guages. Decent sound system Power windows (including the rear). Keyless entry Smart Key ignition system w/ push-button start. A much bigger garage to keep it away from "evil doers".

Re: If You Could Build One.....
i would do a 68 short step. it would have an injected big block auto. stock looking body 3/4 drop red.
i know been done before. but that is always what i wanted. reality is.... red lost out to hugger orange, big block lost out to 350 700r4 will probbly lose out to the th350 3.73 gears will lose out to the stock 3.08. but its mine i want to afford to finish it and drive it. |

Re: If You Could Build One.....
id do a 72 2wd blazer with a 68 front clip and cowl hood. Light Green with all the 68 trim and grey highlander interior. 2 inch drop, all the suspension mods that i could do. four wheel discs. Chevelle 12 bolt with 3.73 posi outback. 427 tri-power built to around 550 horse backed by a M22 rock crusher. have it ridin on 18 inch torque trusts. look completely stock with radio delete plate and such but have a nice stereo system hidden in the console. id mini tub the back by spliting the wheel wells so they look stock, but have eveyone thinking "theres something odd about that" and narrow the back seat to fit.

Re: If You Could Build One.....
okay I have to chime in. 1967 Small Glass SWB Bagged and set to the ground. Motor would be the new twin turbo Lingenfelter from the 2010 ZR1. 6 speed tranny with the largest NOS set up (Just for fun). Tub the rear with 33 MT on a set of ultralite drags. Exhaust would be a Magna flow system with cut outs. I would sacrifice major horse power to make it as quite as I could while cruising for the unexpected puker (i mean tuner) then BAM!!!! Everything that could be chrome, polished, Stainless, on the inside and in the engine area. The Paint would be the 2010 Corvette yellow with a magenta pearl. Body would be shaved like a Playboy Bunny . Inside would be the new Porsche Panamera Beige/Cream bucket seats. Inside would be the same color as the outside. I would have a full JL Audio sound system in it would a built in tv/dvd player in the dash. The bed would be Espresso stained Cherry for that added flare. Okay so I have put no thought in this before

Re: If You Could Build One.....
Cool posts! I have always wanted a slammed 2wd Jimmy. Mostly stock outside, except for some shavings. Under the hood, small block, with a low profile blower. But lately I have been thinking BB. Wheels... not sure. Originally wanted something like Weld Dragstars, 15x7 & 15x15 for fun. But maybe not some 17" low profiles all the way around. Color? Originally red, but black always looks awesome!

Re: If You Could Build One.....
I'd do a 70 Suburban, full custom tube chassis. Hydraulic suspension, all polished stainless control arms and 4 link. I'd set it on 22" Centerline smoothies, powder coated black, laying on it's rockers. I'd do a mild chop, maybe even section it a bit, and a whole truck full of body mods. Paint it black, with an all black leather interior. I'd put a blown big block in it, with a 6 speed.

Re: If You Could Build One.....
Id just add some more mods to my already custom 70. For interior id have black leather buddy buckets, black carpet, 2 10's under the seat and a hidden stereo. For the exterior id have one piece windows, shave door handles, locks, side marker lights, pinch welds, cowl, antenna, stake pockets, get a billet grille insert, foose legend wheels. Under the hood id probably just keep the same setup but shave the firewall and relocate the master cylinder. For suspension id get 2 1/2 drop spindles up front with bags in place of stock coils, for rear simple c notch with 2 inch drop blocks and bags in place of coils. Whew, thats a lot! Good thing i have unlimited money! (i do right?)

Re: If You Could Build One.....
67 4x4, fuel injected big block with a 5 spd behind it. Long or short bed, fleetside, with A/C. I'd have it sitting on about a 6 inch lift with at least 35" tires.

Re: If You Could Build One.....
My '71 would be restored to damn near bone stock with a few sensible upgrades for the sake of driveability and reliability. I wouldn't add factory options since I like my truck the way it is.

Re: If You Could Build One.....
Have Chip Foose take my poor old truck away and overhaul it. I'm not fussy just as long as when it comes back it has a fuel injected 572 in it so I could crush all the ricers with it.
