We spent many a night sucking down Kokanees and looking for Ogopogo...
But that was back in the early '90s. Now I'm chasing down Wild Hogs & Skunks with much better results...

I've had some good ideas in my life. Sandblasting my truck in my garage wasn't one of them. Spent more time cleaning up then blasting. Did get my frame done though. Cab is almost done. Had to scrape some rubber stuff off the firewall the blasting didn't touch it. Inside the cab it had some glue still left on the firewall from the sound insulation. Hit it with some laquear thinner came right off. While it was cleaning the garage I also cleaned up my front clip from a 73 I'm going to take it apart and use the disk brakes. Later Daverod

I started to sand blast a Thunderbird in my garage. After getting only 1/2 of a fender done, I gave up. Like you said sand was every wear. What a mess. I'll send it in to have it professionally blasted.

To all the painters out there. Do you think I could use this gun to shoot primer? I use it to shoot lacquer. It a Kobalt lowes special. Thanks Dave

Had to wait for the dishwasher repair guy this morning thought I would weld up some holes on my firewall. Seemed like a lot of holes. Had no idea what half of them were. At first I was cutting out small circles with my grinder. Then I got smart and just pluged the hole with a long piece of long skinny rectangular steel. It gave my somthing to hang on to while welding. Then while it was still really hot I just twisted it off and finished welding it shut. I plan on keeping my orginal heater (I live in Idaho). I know I might have to redrill out some of the holes hopfully not to many. Going to go buy some primer now. I guess I'll just mix up a small amount and see if my cheapo spray gun will shoot it.

What I did today. When I welded on my corners I failed to notice that there was two walls in the back of the cab, or maybe I did and did'nt think it was a big deal. When I was done I looked inside the cab and if I looked down in the corners I could see the ground. The thought of stuffing a rag in there crosed my mind Any way my fix was to close off the gap between the two walls. I guess I could have torn everything apart. It might have been easier. It would have been easier. Anyway I need the welding practice and where else is a better place to get it. At least I won't be sucking dust when I go bombing down some dirt road.

I'm not a painter, but if you use a high build primer or something thick the gun should have a fairly large tip...1.5 or up. It'll clog up if its too small.

It would be a lot less work to just to cut your corners off , do what you have to do and then weld them back on. I guess it all depends on your welding skills. I'm still learning besides once you put your bed back on nobody's really going to see it. Unless your building a show truck or something. I did manage to weld up the seams on my hood with out messing it up to bad. Good luck . Later Daverod

I painted my cab and frame in primer today. At first I had to crank the pressure up to 100 psi to get my gun to work. After I painted the cab I took the stupid little air filter I bought off. It's made to collect water in the air line. When I painted the frame I turned the pressure down to 45psi. It worked great. The filter was really blocking the air flow. Now I can finish mounting my dash. Then it's time to sling some mud. Later Daverod

Did you put that Evercoat high build primer direct on the bare metal, or did you spray it with an epoxy primer first?
