Re: Window tinting kit diy tint your truck

This is great! is it possible to see how dark 35 & 18 are? I understand how dark Limo will be, but have no idea what 35%/18% will look like. And I will have a set if you ship to the UK?

Thanks
Nigel.

Nigel, 35% all allows you to see in the vehicle and distinguish details and colors of objects. 18% all is more like a outline of interior images with darker shadows. The kit is $56 shipped to you in the UK with instructions. If you use pay pal please post payment to tintkits@gmail.com when you are ready. I will mail you the kit when payment is received. Thanks Scott

Re: Window tinting kit diy tint your truck

Are you going to be offering this kit for at least another month or two, or do you have a finite amount of kits?

Just checked the laws here on tinting in the UK, and it seems since 04 after a major accident somewhere in the UK which they say was a result of a car with dark tint...that no tinting whatsoever shall be allowed on any window forward of the B pillar.
So just to be on the safe side, and not get anymore noticed than I already am driving a large American Truck, I 'll have 35% sides and 18% rear please Scott.

If I understand you correctly, this is the same window tint product used at local tinting shops? Can you tell me what brand it is?

Your welcome. Here is a tip for you. After you trim the parts down to size slowly pull the outside strip of tint off the pattern. This will make it easier to install. Have a great one.

They are. I was talking about the waste material on the outside of the cut of the pattern.

Re: Window tinting kit diy tint your truck

Well I was nervous about F*****g this up so I decided to start with the vent window figured I could live with it if it went tits up and just buy another piece. Started by taking off the vent handle in-case it got in my way then I got a small spray bottle filled with water added a couple of drops of dish washing liquid to it and soaked the window and washed it real clean, then razor bladed it for other debris as recommended and washed it again. The tint comes with a clear film on the sticky side and a good tip on youtube for helping with the removal of the clear backing was using one of the larger windows to support your piece of tint while you peel the film back and lift it into place. This is what I did, soaked the inside of the rear window set my piece of tint on the wet soapy sprayed area with the clear film and sticky side facing inward and peeled it back about 3/4 of the way down the the length of the tint and using scissors trimmed that excess film away. Then soaked the now naked sticky side of the tint turned and soaked my vent window (I had it drippin) and lifted it over and placed it on the glass, I found that as long as you keep giving everything a quick spray of soapy water the tint could be peeled off and repositioned or just slipped up and down as often as you want till your happy. When I was happy I started to press the water out from between the glass and tint with a hard card and squeegy...TIP!...hold onto the tint as it kept wanting to slip outa place, as the water was removed the tint began to take hold so I just kept on gently but firmly squeezing out the water with the hard card and drying round the edges with paper towels as I went, and it was done. Your gona get bored reading this but just one other thing, as it went so well with the vent window I went ahead and did my drivers window same as above...but I got small hairs and dirt under the tint round the edge I could not understand how as I had cleaned it well, but realised that the tint had brushed across the felt in the window channel's and it had picked up the debris from there. So i'm gona run masking tape over the passenger window channels to prevent this happening again.
Check out Youtube on "how to window tint", you can actually watch someone do most of what i've described.
Hope this helps.
Nigel.
