Re: Had my truck custom painted last night
That's one of the reasons i moved out of Dallas and into the sticks 8 years ago. The neighbors in dallas couldnt sell the house, so they leased it out, and some punk mofos moved it that gangbanged, my cars, and garage kept getting shot at, and my wife and kid freaked out when i got fed up and ran outside with my .40 and .45 and unloaded on a monte carlo didnt have any issues for the next year, but decided to move out anyway as the house constantly had new leasees...... keep an eye out.. be safe bro...

Hey man,I'm sorry that it happened to you...Why does it seem like they only mess up or take things that you put a lot of time into.It looks like some type of gang tagging or something. But they are the stupid ones because I'm sure that now they have the attention the cops now

Re: Had my truck custom painted last night
Man, that sucks! Seems like some lil punks have no respect for another man's property. I'm glad I live in a really small town. Sounds like with the gangs on the loose in your neighborhood, you might want to keep your guns loaded.

Re: Had my truck custom painted last night
Since you're in Texas, and you have shall issue, i'm guessing you have a permit. If not, and i were in your position, me and the little lady both would have one as soon as possible.
I wish we had your self defense laws. |

Re: Had my truck custom painted last night
In Texas you can carry a gun in your home and in your car with no permit. Law states if you can legally own a hand gun then you may keep it in your car. You can conceal to your car from home and to work other wise u can leave it in your car at all times. And in sept. last year it passed that you can shoot on you property with out warning if you feel in danger. I would suggest a hand gun safety course for you both...

Re: Had my truck custom painted last night
...I also heard that you can protect your neighbor's property as well: If someone is burglarizing your neighbor's house, you can shoot them, too! lol I'm not certain if this is true, but a reasonable source told me that.
The paint should come off pretty easily if you catch it soon enough. There shouldn't be any reason to sand or anything like that.....capt that works best on really glossy paint. The flat stuff will probably be your downfall unfortunately. Sorry to see that, dood. What area do you live in? I'm out in the burbs and have zero gang activity. The only time I've seen anything like that was when driving into the inner city. You a city guy?

Re: Had my truck custom painted last night
That sucks. Around here the smallest of towns have just as bad or worse problems than the big cities. Maybe worse as the gang taskforces in the bigger cities are running the bangers out of town.
I said the other day that we (the US) need to set up a contract with Mexico to have them build big jails down there and ship the bangers down there to be kept for 5.00 or so a day. None of the "out back on the street in two days because there is no room to keep them or it is too expensive". That would get the bangers off the streets and give the guys down there jobs so they wouldn't have to crawl under the wire to get up here to make a living. |

Re: Had my truck custom painted last night
I wasn't advocating just stepping out the front door and unloading into the street. I'm just saying if there's gang activity, a little protection and a whole lot of caution might be in order.
As someone that's had two vehicles stolen and one burglerized in front of my house...well...we'll just leave it at that. |

Re: Had my truck custom painted last night
Thanks everyone for the words of support. I appreciate it. I got most of the paint off but it did "burn" a shadow into the green. The white paint is pretty much gone but you can still see the outline of the letters.
I live on the south side of Ft Worth in a predominately hispanic area. There are 3 or 4 different gangs within a few miles that I know of. This is actually the first time I have seen the grafitti around here though. I do have home protection but I hope it never has to come to that. If pushed and don't have a problem pushing back. Unfortunately people like this can't let stuff go and I would be afraid of retalliation if things got ugly. I'm more worried about my wife and 2 kids than myself. This is actually the second time my truck was damaged. The first was by someone who wanted to buy it but said my price was too high. Ended up with a broken back window that time. I've been doing some serious thinking about taking a bunch of parts off my 71 project to put on the green one and getting a nice paint job. If the 71 is gone I can put it back in the garage and I wont have to worry about it again. It just sucks that people have to worry and go without things because some people are just assholes. |
