Re: Lets see your seat swaps....
1. mounted the seats to angle iron
2. bent/drilled holes in a 2" piece of flat strap that bolt then bolts to the stock holes in the floor 3. welded angle iron seat mount to flat strap and added gussets for strength [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] Last edited by Mike_D; 07-24-2009 at 02:45 AM. |

Re: Lets see your seat swaps....
My uncle put a set of late model Chevy truck heated leather power seats into his 56 Chevy truck. They look the same as the seats in my 2003 Tahoe.
I'm not sure they would fit on the seat hump in our trucks without being too tall but I will take a closer look at the mount bases and see if mounted on a custom frame they would fit. The local wrecking yard only wants $300 each for the leather ones and $350 for a pair of the cloth ones with good air bags. I don't know what kind of repair would be needed for the air bag deployed version but they are only $250 for a pair of them in leather. Next time I get out there to the yard I will take a look at the airbag deployed ones and see what kind of damage that does to them. These seats have the integral seat belt too. |

Re: Lets see your seat swaps....
Looks sweet.
Anybody put buckets out of a K5 in? Thread got me thinking and I found a nice set of K5 buckets with the console for a good price.

Re: Lets see your seat swaps....
K5 seat brackets wont work since the K5's have a flat floor and your truck doesnt. Burb seats will work if you cant get the inner front bracket thats welded to the floor

Re: Lets see your seat swaps....
Seats are from a 1995 Firebird and the console from a 2012 Chevy truck, all mounted to a frame that mounts to the stock bench seat holes.

Re: Lets see your seat swaps....
The burban bucket seats will not bolt to the stock pickup floors....the angle of the rear seat track is wrong. I just put suburban buckets in my 86, and I used a LH and RH bench seat track set on each bucket. Then, I had to add a hole on each seat track as well as add a hole for the seat retension spring. Not a lot of work...bit you have to do it to make it right. And, the bench seat tracks are also 5" too long so they need trimmed down. 3 of the 4 seat mount will line up once you tack the front inner standoff seat bracket in place-you need to secure the rear inner track to the floor. Simple method is drill a hole and use a nut/bolt-a better option is to drill a hole for use with a metric rivnut so its a factory look, then just thread a standard seat track bolt down and you're done! I have some pics in the project section under K10 Shorty Revival.

Re: Lets see your seat swaps....
Just bend the suburban brackets up.. You can use the bench bracket as a guide..
A large hammer does the trick. It took about 5 Minutes. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Lets see your seat swaps....
Lol....a big hammer does fix most things lol. I just wanted to use what parts I already had around....I thought about just bending the brackets but I wanted less of a geico caveman approach to it....lol.

Re: Lets see your seat swaps....
Heres mine. Came from a early to mid 90's truck. It fits pretty good for me . It's a thinner seat to fit my long legs.

Re: Lets see your seat swaps....
Any details on installation? Looking at using this setup in my 4x4 crew but want to find some 60/40 drivers side buckets (low back) for the front. Found a pretty much mint grey seat like yours with the fold down arm rest but would sooner have a non armrest version for the rear.
