The back side molding is held with two nuts that if you open the door and feel around on the inside of the cab you should run your hand across them. If not someone has used the glue on clips. Pop the molding off then very carefully pry the clip off. Same for the door if you don't feel the nuts on the inside the door with the inner panel off they used the glue on clips.
Small screw driver will pop it off. Find the edge of the clip in the molding edge and flip it off.

Re: Any gm mechanics/members on this forum?
WWOTR, I just took the trim off of my 72 C10 on Monday and maybe yours will be about the same. On the door trim, I used a small 3/8 wrench to get to the trim nut that is behind the lower door hinge. I opened the door and got to it from the top side of the lower door hinge. It was slow going but worked fine. Remove that nut and the one at the back end of the trim and then easily pry off the double stick tape clips (there were only 2 studs/nuts on mine, front and rear, and everything else was stick on). As for the one on the rear of the cab, I removed the vent in the "B" pillar (one phillips screw at the top and pull/lift out) and could get my hand in there with a small 3/8 wrench and there are 2 nuts on that piece that come off. You can't really see them, but you can easily feel them.
Good luck. |

Re: Any gm mechanics/members on this forum?
Two More questions for the oh "Wise Ones" here.............
1) My Dash Pad on my 72 GMC is DESTROYED, (but still attached) to the Dash. How do you remove it/re-attach a new one? 2) On my 72 GMC it looks as though the end of the shaft is Threaded and Flat on one side. So I'm assuming that the new Knob would just eaither screw on, or use a Set-Screw or BOTH? Roger
