Re: Rust NEVER Sleeps 2009
Well, since we don't have a group gathering like this in Oregon, it looks like I will travel to the Golden State to meet and greet you Chevy owners in Vacaville.
I will be on my motorcycle, though. The 1966 C-10 hasn't been fully checked out yet and I don't know if I want to put $120+ for fuel through the truck without knowing it will get me back home. Plus, since I am still semi-employed, money is tight. Would someone local be willing to let me mooch/pay for a burger and a Coke/Pepsi? Hauling food in a safe manner will be a challenge, I think. There will be plenty of food. I might be on my motorcycle also.

Re: Rust NEVER Sleeps 2009
Is it fair for me to bring a CD full of rusty pictures of my '66 to try to win the rusty award? If not, hopefully a computer there will be there so I can show what I am dealing with and maybe earn some "rustie points."

Re: Rust NEVER Sleeps 2009
Well Greg...thanks for the invite, but regretfully, I'm gonna miss this years event.
My truck isn't really ready, and with the recent incident of my trailer being stolen, I'm really not in the mood... I really wanted to be there....you guys have a good time !!! - -

Re: Rust NEVER Sleeps 2009
John, I respect your decision, but brother, please hear me out for a minute:
Don't let a couple of 2 bit crooks take away your joy too! Those guys are punks - don't give 'em the satisfaction. The meet's exactly what you need to get your mind off this thing!! Hanging with a bunch of guys that support you, talking Chevy and tellin' stories - now that's REAL therapy, man! Besides, it's the only time when the moderators to the two best 60-66 Chevy Truck Forums on the web can meet up with a bunch of the members from both sites and party! There. I spoke my piece, I hope you don't take offense. Bottom line brother, either way you go, we're all with you man.

Good News, the trailer was found !!! (see thread) Anyway, I finished up the floor pan...but still needs shorter front shocks. Drove it home today...seemed 'ok' on the freeway...but now I have to deal with the trailer tomorrow....We will see, I really want to be there !!!

Re: Rust NEVER Sleeps 2009
Jim Rodreguez walked away with the tall trophy - "Best of Show" this year.......again. (who knew?) See more pictures of the show - Click Here! I just want to take a moment and express my gratitude to my long time friend John Torrano for all the hard work he put into this year's show. Not only could I have not pulled this thing off with out him, I wouldn't have been able to bring my truck without his help over the past few months. Thanks for helping me get back into the restoration after my operation. Thanks for the motor, the front end, the power steering unit and thanks for putting up with my cranky disposition

Re: Rust NEVER Sleeps 2009
Was thinking of doing another one but not in vacaville. Maybe inbetween SF and SJ if anyone might be interested. Just a BBQ and get together.
