To center the rearend the panhard bar needed lengthened 1/4".

Cut the bar

Lengthened 1/4" and tac welded for fitment. Installed the bar and raised the rearend to ride height and measured. The rearend was centered within a 1/32 so pulled the bar back out and started making the plates to weld over the 1/4 gap.

Bending the front plate

Making a pattern for the back plate

Transferring the pattern to flat stock

Pictures didn't turn out but they show the plates welding to the bar

Also started making the mounts for the air tanks, compressors, and valves. The plan is to install the air management system between the frame rails where the spare tire was.

Tac'd together for fitting. Everything checked out so tomorrow I'll remove the tanks and finish welding

Found time to make a little more progress...

Completed the air management rack for the tanks, manifold and compressors. I'm happy with the end result - clean, functional and compact.

View from underneath (hard to get a good pic)

With all of the components mounted.

Needed some extra room so I removed a portion of the floor cross member. Drilled out the spot welds (WHAT A PAIN) and cut the rest with a cut off wheel. (I accidentally deleted the last pic of the piece completely removed but you get the idea

The air lines along the frame rails are installed- still need to connect to the tanks.

Currently I'm determining where to mount the height sensors. Looks like this is the best approach for the front. Still need to fab a mounting bracket and secure it to the A-arms. The A-arms are cast and I don't have a brazing torch so bolts will be used to secure the bracket to the A-arm.

That thing looks awesome, i must say. I personally like the way u showed the height sensor travel, exposure is a beautiful tool. I was just wondering, as someone mentioned above, that the upper shockwave mount may be weak. If im right, that was the old shock absorber mount correct? and then the torsion bars would take more of the load? Im wondering if anyone knows if this is structurally as strong as with the torsion bars? I am thinkin about doing this similar operation to my 00 sierra, and would love to be able to just throw the bags in there and take out the blasted torsion bars.....thanks

Thanks! The shockwave mounts to a U shaped bracket and the bracket mounts to the original top shock mount.

You do bring up a good point about the bracket and shock mount taking on a lot more of the load with the torsion bars removed. I trust in Air Ride Technology's R&D department and that the bracket and mount will hold but I will keep an eye on it.

Not sure what bag setup you're going with... If using convoluted bags you may find this interesting:

hey thanks, appreciate the link, most certainly helps out. Only problem with my truck is the fact that its 4wd, so bag clearance issues arise, so that blows. I did come across this pretty nice site that has basically an assembly guide for a good number of vehicles on it, if anyone needs somethin like this, for free anyway....

The front sensor arm bracket, where it mounts to the lower A-arm, is now complete.

Tacked it in place and snapped a center line.

Drilled and tapped two mounting holes.

Trimmed and rounded the corners and secured with 1/4 20 bolts.

Now the front is complete! Next is to mount the rear sensors...

265/60/18's with about a fingers width between tire and inner fender well when aired out.
