Re: 307 Pistons

That sounds like it should pep it up a good bit. What compression are you going for?

Re: 307 Pistons

Well flat top pistons with 64cc chambers, running pump gas and aluminum heads so im guessing about 9.75:1.
Correct me if im wrong

Re: 307 Pistons

That sounds right. That will be a nice running small block.I`m sure many will need convincing it`s not a 350.

Re: 307 Pistons

I used 307's in my 250 chevy inline 6!
Better compression than stock just shy of 9.5/1

Just FYI for 307 pistons if someone wants to try it it works great!!!
Power & more torque...

I guess my point was that "if he needs new pistons...it's not a "good motor". I wasn't saying to pull out a good running engine just to replace it with something bigger, just becasue it is bigger.
If it is being rebuilt anyway, spend the money in a way that gains you the most. IMHO there is no "glory" in keeping something that has built-in deficiencies, just to prove that they can be over-come.

You can run with your hand over your mouth....but why would you?
