Re: Just bought new truck 1971 SWB 454

thanks, I am thinking of installing a 67 front clip (because it is laying around) and keeping the paint scheme and repainting it. I am trying to just fix what is broke and not end up with a frame off....! I get carried away sometimes. lol

Re: Just bought new truck 1971 SWB 454

More than likely it is in there with SBC mounts, so don't buy another set of headers, they will not fit!! Get a set of 68-71 mounts or poney up the $150 or so for a set of 72 only BBC mounts, or (a lot of OR's sorry) use the 73 and up mounts for nearly free and drill two holes, then you buy the headers or use the ones you have. Looks decent, I just drug home a Burb for $1200 and I mean drug, it needs a trans!

Re: Just bought new truck 1971 SWB 454

So I cleaned the extra parts out of the inside of the truck and started looking around. The truck has a Vintage Air Sure fit A/C system on it....score! It is missing the compressor, the condensor, the dryer and the lines under the hood. It is also missing all the brackets under the hood. I hope I can get an upgrade kit and it takes care of those parts.

The extra parts in the cab were an edelbroch 600 cfm carb, a flamethrower billet distributor, an edelbroch chrome kit and set of SB headers.

I am suprised that no one knows this truck, as much custom/resto stuff that was done to it.
