You might not believe it but I never took any pictures before or during the build. I have a short bed 4X4 '69 (you can see it in the back ground of the first pic) that my son and I are going to do next. I plan start a build thread when we get rolling on it.

Yes, the color of the interior pieces match pretty well. I got everything but the carpet from Athey's Classic Truck Parts in Front Royal, VA. His web site is http://s-c-t-p.com/ . His place is only about 45 minutes from where I live so it was very convenient for me to drive to and Bill is great to deal with. You may not be able to tell from the pics but the carpet is a little darker than I wanted. My mistake was I ordered the carpet from ACC long before I got the rest of the interior. The sun visors are original.

Re: My truck is almost done...woohoo!

Well I finally took the truck out for the maiden voyage a couple nights ago. Boy was I disappointed when the transmission wouldn't shift out of first gear. It turns out that since I let the transmission set for several months after the rebuild without fluid in it the governor got stuck so when I pulled it out of the garage it cleaned the teeth off the plastic gear. $10 bucks later for a new gear and I was set for the second drive. Drove it up to the gas station, put in some high-test and put about eight miles on it.

Damn it feels good taking that drive to enjoy the fruits of your labor, there's no feeling like it in the world. I can't wipe the smile off my face.

You give me hope...I am still a month or two before the Circuit Rider will be finished. I hope mine looks as well as yours. Very nice work and a very nice looking truck!!

Oh by the way...what makes that truck extra special...it's a 70!

You need to put the tires and wheels back on your VW bug! LOL

Just kidding. That does look like it just rolled off the dealer floor in '70. Now go and get yourself a load of barkdust!!!!!
