Re: 72C/10 only 56,000 original miles
X2 - it is his truck, but it looks so nice with the original paint. That is a great score!

The black primer would just be a step between completing all the body work and paining it jet black if that makes it sound better. Tho I do kinda like that light blue too, but eveything looks good black!

Tell him to put a coat of wax on it and drive it. You would not believe what a coat of wax would do.
Great score.

I've always changed the oil, and added a quart of auto trans fluid for a noisy lifter... this was taught to me by a old mechanic....

I would not primer the whole truck also, just on the areas that have been repaired.

Paint the bumpers, drop it and drive it! That is one nice looking survivor!

Re: 72C/10 only 56,000 original miles
I have to agree...Don't black primer that truck! Only the areas that are being repaired should get the primer. Once you go flat black it's just another old flat black truck (no offense to those of you that prefer the flat black). That truck has got character and patina that can't be faked! Roll it with pride just like it is!

Dammit! Stay off here for a month, and miss a deal like this in your backyard! I'm with the rest of the crew- no primer. Just drop it and drive it, that's what I'd do.
