Nice job. Your truck looks great, love the bed and the story. It's people like you that give me the hope that one day I'll be able to drive my truck. Enjoy

Old custom classic trucks have soul. Their dashboards aren't plastic, and they've survived both the best and worst of what the 20th century had to offer. For the owners of these trucks, it's often the same story. Through both good and bad times they persevered, until one day they could turn the key and roll up in a customized truck everyone with good taste would admire.Custom Classic Trucks

"and cut up a Cedar tree that was blown down from a tornado. I carried the logs to a saw mill and had them cut 9 in x10 ft. After they dried in my sons barn for 3 years I took them to a cabinet shop and had the grooves cut for the bed." from the first post

Re: After 5 years

I must be missing something...
I think only one person asked what type of wood it was..
Everyone else just commented on how nice it was..

"Very slick. What kind of wood is that? "
"I think he said it was "tornado wood"
I didn't say all of you did I". there were 2 on the first page that made those quotes.
just me being me. I have been in business for 34 years as a woodworker making and restoring furniture and woodturning. I just pick up on those details .spent 15 years automotive; parts , mechanic and sold for IHC and Pacific truck in the mid 70's. started work@14 and will be 65 on my next one. maybe I am just an old fart

Re: After 5 years

Nice truck, I really like the "Oak" bed

you can store your wool sweaters in the bed, you know, to keep moths away!! But on a serious note....VERY nice looking truck, would love to see drivetrain photos

Re: After 5 years

It's all good Ron,
I think the Tonado Wood was a joke......
I don't think being an OLD FART is the problem...
I think it's just that your so far up north, all that cold weather has made you an "OLD CRANKY FART".......

Re: After 5 years

you haven't seen me cranky, but my daughter called me an old fart years ago.
I guess when I made that statement, I was not really referring to this thread in paticular but more in general and some boards are worse than others. they were paying attention this morning I see though.
not that far north. Sidney (about 70 mi north of Seatle) where I live has about the best weather in all of Canada temperature wise
