Finally got the brake booster fixed. I managed to build 1 working unit from 3 defective ones. Of 1 of the defective ones I had the case cad plated.
The issue w/ the remanuf. unit I got the last time was that the brackets were bent (I had seen this when installing, the purple tube didn't want to go into the firewall either), with some wrestling I got it installed only to have it fail after 4 times pressing the pedal. There must have been too much strain on the front plastic section of the floating valve. It cracked open. The other defective unit had a failed retainer in that same plastic collar. I'm so glad that whole nightmare is over, between ordering stuff in the US, paying insane shipping and import fees I finally got it done. I hate it when simple stuff like this leaves me stranded. Why is simple stuff so hard sometimes. |
