Re: Tilt column warning! retro68

He lost over $400 to someone he met here who now won't answer emails or phone calls ... I can't say that I blame him for the disappointment & less than friendly attitude.

If it happened to anyone else here they would feel exactly the same way.

Re: Tilt column warning! retro68

I do not blame him a bit for being upset. BUT without contacting us, how the heck are we suppose to help? I go above and beyond to help folks around here and will not sit back and get told how crappy we do.

Has he contacted the police?
Has he sent a certified letter to the business?
Has he done anything above posting here?

I would not know as we can't get a reply beyond us not doing enough to help.

The user has been banned, the post has been locked with a redirect here. Honestly I don't know wtf else I am suppose to do other then go hold his hand and tell him how sorry I am.

Im not tryin to be an ass, but hell...

Please stop editing your signature. If you have an issue please contact the local authorities or retro68. Defaming him online draggin us into the mix will not solve it. I'm sorry you feel that this site is of no value to you now due to your lack of communication to us when this matter first came about. Unfortunately we are not the police and we are not the person you had a problem with. I'm sure a phone call to him or his place of business would help speed things along in recovering your money or a column.

I noticed that the first person (re the tint) having trouble getting hold of Scott was highperf4x4, and over the last couple of months or so he has been heard from less and less...the last contact I had with Scott was this email dated the 15th June...

I will have to reserve judgment here, and prefer to beleive as Kev said, that he may be facing personal difficulties that have prevented him being around and on top of things. I can honestly say that the Scott I delt with was not a conman.
I to hope that the problems that others are having get resolved promtly for all concerned.
Actually my problem is on-going too. He did finally send me the tint and claimed it was an error with the postal service however, it did not fit correctly. Specifically the piece for the back window was almost 1/2" too short. When I contacted him he told me he would send a replacement that I could trim to fit. That was over 2 months ago and I haven't gotten a repsonse since.

Whether or not he sounds like a stand up guy on the phone isn't important. It's his lack of motivation to take care of his obligations that gives him negative marks from me. He's probably spread himself too thin but that doesn't give him the right to take peoples money and not deliver what was promised.

So I gave him 2 weeks and now does not return calls. But he makes sure he takes your money. I tried to PM and call to see if he would send a check back with my invest amount for his column. No replies. ....Figures!!

Now I will be forced to see a attorney or a collection agency.

I say he is a rip off artist. BUYER BEWARE!
I can understand your frustration ghost. It sucks and I gaurantee you, If it was my 465.00 I'd be just as upset as you are. I know this thread doesn't sound very sympathetic to your situation but I'm sure everyone here feels really bad for you. I'd be venting pretty hard over that much money lost myself.

I think your best bet would be like Liz says, contact the police in his area and file a complaint on him.

Hope it works out for ya man!

I love a mystery.

It seems poor communication continues as the theme of this thread. And,not that the staff doesn`t care.

Re: Tilt column warning! retro68

I am curious as to what happened with Scott/Retro68. I have purchased a column from him in the past and everything went as it should and the column was a good deal? It is too bad when things like this happen! I hope everyone gets what they are owed in the end!

Re: Tilt column warning! retro68

So,Scott opened a dual account over a year and a half ago?I think we all figure that`s the easy explanation and were just hoping he didn`t go and do that no-no,too.

Since you're taking care of your business, do you have my rear window tint or has it gotten lost in the mail again?

Scott has been contacting us via email. This thread should be updated soon.

I really dont feel like going into details ATM or going off either

Whomever is owed things, he has stated he is trying now to make things correct. I am sure we will have some answers soon.

Re: Tilt column warning! retro68

I got a money order from Scott (aka Retro). Just waiting a few days to make sure that it clears the bank.
Bank says 4 - 5 business day to be officially cleared.

Hopefully this will be the end of the situation after 6 months.

This is the review board, not the sales board. Please PM them if you are serious with a purchase request.

Yeah, I'd just like to see my rear window tint show up and then he can sell all the steering columns he wants.
