Re: Can I get some feedback on my truck that is for sale?
Around here, with the flatbed, mudflaps, working tail lights and a decent seat cover on it that truck would probably sell pretty quickly to someone who wanted to use it as a truck.
I think that where it is sitting (10 miles from my mother in law's house) Not having it ready to use is making it a hard sell. Several local guys probably have passed up because they figure it will cost too much to put a bed on it and get it ready for the road and work. With the PTO it would be a nice rig for someone to put an older wrecker bed on as a personal tow rig. |

i haven't been in texas since '01, and even back then, rusted out cab corners, rockers, and body mounts was not uncommon at all.
Up here, they have just desolved and returned to mother earth. |

Re: Can I get some feedback on my truck that is for sale?
I was not being hostile.I apologize if that`s how it was taken. The post suggested it wasn`t selling because the price was too high, not that one tons are harder to sell. The one ton was being compared to 1/2 and 3/4 tons, which as we all know is apples to oranges. That`s all I was pointing out. Then there`s the fact that this truck isn`t in southern California. The "yeah right" was not meant to say there are no $1,000 trucks in CA.But,I`ve seen plenty of SoCal trucks with rusted rockers and cab corners. Not gaping holes like Detroit by any means, but not rustfree. The worst I`ve seen out of the arid SW is rust from dried and cracked sealer in the drip rail.Thses are 40 year old trucks +/- and have their issues due to age and $1,000 isn`t much money for anything that runs.Decent trucks for cheap are getting harder and harder to find out there, too.
I wouldn`t go any cheaper. It`s the extremely slow economy more than anything, anyway.

No, you won't find a loaded big block short bed truck out here with all the whistles on it.....short beds are highly sought anywhere. Not every truck here is rust free either. If it has lived on the coast, it will look like swiss cheese. To answer the original poster's question: The economy sucks, plain and simple.

Re: Can I get some feedback on my truck that is for sale?
It's the economy....trucks that were selling for 2500-3000 aren't selling for 1500 right now. I'm going to go to look at a running, driving 69 longbed 1/2ton with a 327/350 in good shape for $350 tomorrow near me. It has some common rust, but not too bad and for $350 I can't see passing it up

The price is fine, it just takes someone looking for a heavy-duty truck in your area (shipping is unrealistic). Good Luck and thanks for your service to our country!

Re: Can I get some feedback on my truck that is for sale?
Mine never sold either. Heck I wish mine just got the attention that his F/S thread was getting. If my truck hasn't sold by the end of the month I am going to part it. I thought my 1/2ton, factory big block, cheyenne project that runs and drives (around the yard) in decent shape under $1,500 would sell easily but no. Barely getting nibbles. Ironically though people are lined up for her parts. I guess lwb big blocks are just worth more dead than alive so everyone can put the BB parts in their shortbed trucks.

Re: Can I get some feedback on my truck that is for sale?
I have seen prices hit the floor round here. It's sad to see but there are just so many for sale now. Even lwb big blocks are not selling fast out here unless its just for parts. The only trucks that are selling fast are the ones under $1,000 and I see plenty of them now everywhere. These are desperate times.
