Re: The Phoenix Rises

Can you put up a couple shots of the winch and boom? I have a soft spot for old wreckers too and am curious if it has a sidewinder type winch. It is going to be nice. Thanks

no glass filter, suspect it was fuel line developing pin hole leaks, happened on my work truck a few weeks earlier,NAPA was happy to replace it 4 free

Re: The Phoenix Rises

Question? When you chop the top how do you get the windshield to fit?

Start with 5 good windsheilds, hopefully you get it figured out before you have to buy # 6. It's just a cut and fit process, I broke two learning how to cut them and two trying to install them

Re: The Phoenix Rises

WOW!!! was it in the garage when it caught on fire? I see it was out on thepad buning away. I would be freaking out trying to get it out so it didnt burn the garage down. I do agree with your phiolosiphy that its only tin and just move on.

I assume Grundy took care of you on the other---i hope you had enough on it. I see too many people go cheap on thier toys insurance and get not anything close to what its worth.

The new project is looking good. I like it!

What ever happened with this build? Is it still in the works? It looked pretty awesome after such a horrible fire beginning the whole build.

Re: The Phoenix Rises

.Ran into a bit of hardship last 18 months.....my wife passed away and house foreclosed and had no place to work on the 55 so I parted it out. No worries though , **** happens and life goes on. Finishing up this 46 for my dad who is 77 and then I'm off to South Africa to build rides for a friend there, nothing keeping me here and I'm only 60 so on to some new adventures.
the 46 has MII front end with a 350/350 c0mbo, a/c p/s p/b...should have it on the road in a few weeks if the weather holds, will post pix when done
