Re: '77 3+3 C30 Dually - "The "Sled"
Thanks, Man, but I've lost interest in it. It's a lot of work and I've had a change in priorities recently.
I'm looking for a 4wd crew right now. I want to pick something up that doesn't require quite as much work. It was a tough call, but it was the right one. |

I understand. So, you got more pics of all your rides. What's the '86 hauler all about? Got some pics of it?

Re: '77 3+3 C30 Dually - "The "Sled"
Not really. I've been busy. The truck is sidelined w/ tranny issues. I'm spending a lot of my spare $$$ on my house lately.
I'm thinking I'll likely get back on it after the holidays. |

Yeah I hear you, I dont know about you but I dont play well with slush boxes, that is why I tossed mine in favor of a NV4500.

Re: '77 3+3 C30 Dually - "The "Sled"
I tell you what, it makes a great truck even better.
After the first of the year once I get moved into my new shop I am going to cut the floor out of mine again and remove the front hump under the seat, im installing the floor out of a 98 crew cab so I can run the 60/40 split bench so the girl can sit in the center.

Re: '77 3+3 C30 Dually - "The "Sled"
J, Killer rigs man....I'm running the same amount of lift on my Burban. But I think my front springs are to soft (not necessarily a bad thing) and I don't think my shocks are up to controlling the bonce coming off overpasses and dips, bumps on the highway. What shocks are you running on yours? I going to upgrade to something better soon....I'm just fishing for ideas.

Re: '77 3+3 C30 Dually - "The "Sled"
Quick update.
I took Friday off in anticipation of doing nothing, but when I finally rolled out of bed at 8:00 AM, the Sled was sitting in the driveway...staring at me...taunting me...mocking me. So I got busy. It’s time to get this rig back on the means streets of Southern California. The pics aren’t really all that exciting, but they’re pics nonetheless. @ 9:30 AM-ish: @ 1:30 PM-ish (took a 3-hour break to take the kid to the Dr.’s): Q: What’s hotter than my hot Wife, running a piece of equipment supporting the classic sheetmetal of a square? A: Nothing. I kept the front clip together as an assembly and stuck it in the backyard. It’s going to be replaced with the front clip off the ’83 parts truck. Small gap in the picture taking...I was busy...sue me. Pulled the motor and trans as an assembly...the wife ran point in the New Holland again for that. She did a great job. Here’s the motor is sitting in the garage. I’m pretty sure there’s more oil and grease on the outside than on the inside. End of the day, Friday. As of Saturday, the power steering pump/hoses have been removed from the Hydraboost, the HVAC plenum is on the table in my garage and the frame is squeaky clean courtesy of a gallon of degreaser and the pressure washer. The motor and trans is leaving for the race shop on Saturday. I know a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who pulled some strings for me. It’s not going to be a monster, but it’ll have a few more ponies than stock. It’ll be a nice cruiser. |

Re: '77 3+3 C30 Dually - "The "Sled"
Of course, I'd be willing to trade the whole clip for a nice set of headers (they have to have the a.i.r. tubes in 'em).
