Thanks for sharing the great pics. One of these days I'll get up there to that one.

Thanks for sharing your pics, I gotta agree with lolife99, Des Moines is by far the best show I've attended. I drooled on the Mopar too. Talked to the owner, he seemed like a down to earth guy. I got the impression he did most the work himself.

Re: 2009 Goodguys pics (Des Moines)

My first car was a '71 Chevelle.
So I was especially attracted to this 502 powered 1971 Chevelle that was for sale ($55k).
It belonged to the "Pro Street legend" (of the 80's and 90's) Mark Grimes.

Kid,... if you ever get the itch to sell your '51,... send me a PM. I doubt that I can afford it,... but it was my favorite truck there. I wish I could have talk to you there. Maybe I'll see you at the Kansas Goodguys event.

Re: 2009 Goodguys pics (Des Moines)

This sweet '55 stayed at the host motel (Marriott) where we stayed.
Very cool guy that owned/built it. Super attention to detail!

He was well known for his suicide-door 65 but the better ride IMO was the little Chevy II he did. We hung out w/him @ the Street Mach. Nat's in DuQuoin (sp?) ummmm..... '90 maybe?

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

DuQuoin, IL was the "motherland" for the Pro Street scene, back in it's heyday. I went several years. Nothing else like it.
(My '67 Pro Street Camaro still looks the same as it did in 1990)
I'm still waiting for the Pro Street cars to make a comeback,...

I originally wanted to do a stock theme w/my 67 but w/the big tires (sort of like Sullivans Cheeze Whiz 55) but I didn't want to narrow the rear end & used big off-set wheels. I knew it was only a matter of time before more sizes were available in the big diameter rubber so I was waiting.....

Ultimately, my Mickey T's were sold off 'cause I just couldn't get into the look. I got the 20" TT2's when they first came out & those somehow made it to my 74 'cause the polished look just wasn't doing it for me either. Picky f**ker aren't I .

Post all you want, Bob. I was hoping a few more people would add pictures. Trying to upload pics with "dial-up" is terrible!
Keep the pics coming if anyone else has some,...

that truck is for sale. had a price of $5600 if i'm not mistaken. not a bad deal considering the wheels it has on it. I didn't look close, but one of the cab corners was shot.
