Re: What did you get done? 07/26/09

I took the wife and kids to a car show. Some good stuff out there. Maybe 150 vehicles total. But a good time. Then we went the back way back home to stop and check out a crew dually I saw last week. It was pretty clean but a 4x4. So I was not so interested. But a nice truck anyway. I was supposed to make room in the garage for the 67 Biscayne that is coming over this week for me to do the body & paint work on. My poor truck will be outside because of that. Oh, well. hoping this will be the car that really puts me on the map out here.

Thanks. No, I think it would be too low in back if I did the flip, I still have another inch on the shackle to lower it so it should sit right where I want it (right on top of the tire).

Started the body work on my 87, first by pulling a bad dent on pass door and started the block sanding...

Re: What did you get done? 07/26/09

Got my frame and most of my small parts back from the powdercoaters on Friday, so I got this done this weekend:

I should have the rest of the stuff midweek, so I plan to get the springs, axles, steering stuff, and gas lines all put back in there next weekend.

Wow, looks to be coming along nice.

Here are 2 square body trucks from the show I went to. And 1 that is not square but too cool not to show you all. The dark red 75 was absolutely stunning original looking. You can see more older Chevy trucks & other random vehicle pics in my post in the Colorado forum.

Nada. Forced to go shopping both days (redoing the youngest's bedroom. Apparently my input is important).

Very disappointed in the diesel, only got 22mph last tank. Guess I'll have to replace the pump after all (since I know the advance is worn).

Finished wet sanding the suburban while watching the Brickyard race. Got the paint booth all set up. Ready to spray as soon as I get the $1300 in paint material.

I got back late last night, and was too tired to download my pics. I found out that one of my camera setting was off, so many of them are not very crisp.

I delivered my 77 to my buddy Rogers shop outside of Rockwall. Even though he just opened, and has no sign out his shop is full of nice projects. His reputation follows him, and so do his customers.

Re: What did you get done? 07/26/09

My truck was actually being used as a truck, even if it did make the trip on a trailer. It's a good thing I did trailer it though. When I got there, I noticed brake fluid dripping in my rear wheel.

Here's the load of goodies I delivered. It's a complete new suspension package from Air Ride Technologies.

While I was there, I couldn't resist the temptation to play "what if" with some of Keith's (n2billet) wheels.

What do ya think?

One more for good measure. There were several high end projects in various stages of construction at the shop. This 67 Nova was my favorite.

Re: What did you get done? 07/26/09

added some power steering fluid when i realized the cap had a small hole in it that allowed it to leak. pulled my dash cluster out and started painting everything white to have brighter gauges at night, also bought all new 168 bulbs to replace my current dash bulbs.

Nice,... But I'd rather see it rolling a set of Billet Specialties "Bonnevilles". These are my favorite wheel right now.
At over $1000 per wheel,... I'll let you choose "polished" or "grey powder coated". Ha.

Also,... what's the name of the new shop? (Roger's Out Specialties?)

I agree! It sets off the chrome trim on the truck dramatically. Wouldn't change a thing...imho.
