I broke my windshield on Saturday...

I bought my windshield gasket from the Truck Shop. Has anyone used this gasket before? I'm wondering if that is the problem.

I've heard the gaskets from GMC Pauls are good ones. Is that correct?

That sucks but from what I have heard, it's not uncommon to break them. Even the Pros do.

Personally I would pay a company to put in a new windshield (buying the gasket and windshield from them) so when the break it, it's their fault and they pay for the next one.

If you supply the windshield and/or gasket, they typically won't take any responsibilty for breaking it.

Took some outside pics last night while transporting the bed to the garage. The bed has more rust in it thatn I realized. The wheel openings have a lot of bondo. I'm going to use the wheel openings from the rusted out fenders I have to fix the bed. Has anyone done this before?

Thanks! Yeah, I'm hoping the paint lasts a long time.

For now the suspension is going to stay stock. I would like to lower it a little eventually, but I dont want to notch the frame or anything. Its going to be a daily drive/work truck. I was thinking about lowering the back a little and leaving the front stock to level it out, but I'm not sure yet.

What do you think?!?!?

they make a very small notch that bolts to your frame, you have to cut a little but its worth it. and towing or having it as a work truck with the notch shouldn't be an issue. i think its around $150 for the notch and you can buy 2" drop blocks for about $100. but thats all up to you!

New Parts! Still working on the bed. The new bed I bout had a lot more rust than I thought.So I am swapping th inside of my bedsides with the new outside bedsides. If that makes sanse. Its a long process swapping the insides of the bedsides. There are about a million spot welds to drill out.

New parts keep me inspired though. lol

I really hate getting all those carriage bolts out

ALL of mine were seized (rust) and they spun around in the holes.

Took about 1 whole day, a lot of swearing, and a few busted knuckles to get them all out.

yeah since we're talking about bed carriage bolt removal... DON"T TRY TO HOLD THEM WITH YOUR FINGERS WHILE YOU RUN THE GUN! lets just say i found out the hard way. they get really sharp when they're all rusty ha ha

Yeah it definitely is, but I didnt want to spend any more money on the bed. Trying to save up for a house while its still a buyers market.

Still working on the bed but I installed my new shocks last night. The bed will soon be in primer and hopefully it will stay warm enough to paint. Its been in the 60s the last few weeks here in pa.
