Re: can it be my heads?

you need to verify that your engine is that hot.
Since you are giving numbers, and not saying "the H on the guage" I'll assume you have an aftermarket guage hooked up.
Is this an electric guage, or mechanical?

Re: can it be my heads?

Slow down and think through things first. Why would you just jump to a conclusion that it's the heads all of the sudden ?

I could understand if it were using water or blowing steam out the exhaust.

Re: can it be my heads?

If it's a blown head gasket your compression will suffer and you will use coolant causing steam to come out of the exhaust. Your compression numbers are good.

Re: can it be my heads?

If it burns your eyes, it is running too rich. Steam smells sweet and it it quite noticeable. And I never implied you were making anything up.

You've thrown a pile of money at the problem with no improvement so far. I thought you might want some advice from someone who did this stuff for a living for a long time. Carry on. Throw more cash at it.

Re: can it be my heads?

It is using a noticeable amount of antifreeze ?

Remove all 8 spark plugs. Go to O reilly and borrow their pressure tester. Pump the cooling system to 18 psi and see if any water comes out of any spark plug holes.

Yes, you have a head gasket or cracked head problem. No, your heads and gaskets are fine. It's that simple.

Re: can it be my heads?

Barring a blown gasket or cracked head, you can quit worrying about the heads as your problem. There's not something that can just go wrong with them and cause your problem other than that.

Re: can it be my heads?

If it's hitting 200 and staying there then I don't think you have a problem at all.

it goes to 2 hundred then it goes to 210!
like i said i have 2 electric fans on is pushing and one is pulling!
thats not right cuz one fan should be able to keep it cool!
i was reading around and my truck has symptoms of a blown head gasket!
bubbles coming from antifreeze when u look in cap
the exhaust smells sweet and burns my eyes
the truck doesnt run good
why plugs are all wet and black

Burning eyes can be rich or lean. What is your timing at idle?

Re: can it be my heads?

Have you had to add any coolant?

Also, check your oil for any signs of coolant on the dipstick. What some people call a milkshake.

Re: can it be my heads?

Plugs are wet and black because carb is too rich. If head gasket was leaking, it would likely overheat, not just run at 210 degrees, which is arguably a 'normal' temp. Or, it would blow white smoke out the tailpipe or blow water out the radiator or you would see oil mixed in with your coolant or water on the oil dipstick. I would keep tweaking the cooling system as I mentioned above instead of pulling the heads. One fan may not keep it cool if the fan does not pull enough air through the radiator or if there is no shroud, or if the water pump pulley is too big, etc. There are many reasons why you could still run hot with even two fans. Are you sure the fans are running at 100%? Proper size wiring and proper use of relays are needed to feed those high amp fans. You may also need a higher amp alternator to feed two fans. I am also not convinced that you are truly runnning abnormally hot. I also don't like your compression numbers. There is a huge varation from high to low. That indicates a possible problem to me, maybe ring gaps are not proper, some cylinders are worn, burnt valves, etc.
