Re: Project Physcobilly <shortbed build>
Rustoleum gloss black with metal flake.Thin it out with lacqure thinner and not the mineral spirits they suggest . It sets up and becomes more durable and seems to have a higher shine .

Re: Project Physcobilly <shortbed build>
Well have done some updates on the truck. I have had the tranny rebuilt with the B&M race rebuild kit and stage 2 shift kit.
Gathered all the body pannels to swap over to a 76 front clip minus grill . And the flip kit is installed waiting to get it back from the shop so I can lower the front!

Re: Project Physcobilly <shortbed build>
The truck is sitting down at the tranny shop again they had me get my driveshaft shortened to much and now it wont seal and is pukin tranny fluid everywere this truck is turning into a money pit over $4,000 in it and I have nearly nothing to show for it. And now the tranny shop is ignoring all my calls for the last three days this blows.

Re: Project Physcobilly <shortbed build>
Alright Here are some before and after pictures progress has been slowly made. Even though im really considdering selling her to buy a rust free 1952 plymouth Savoy.
I have the drop springs I just can't find anyone brave enough to show me how to put them on. I used a western chassis flip kit and it is a great product! I would recomend it to anyone. ****edit**** Wow I just looked at the before and after picture and it just blows my mind how much it changed it hardly looks like the same truck! I must have been getting nosebleeds with how high it was sitting before the smaller wheels and flip kit.

A few more shots! I picked up the B&M shifter for $50 with cable and brackets. Painted my round headlight trim and a picture of the rallye wheels.

Re: Project Physcobilly <shortbed build>
Yesterday I met board member BGRAFX did some parts trading checked out his new burb its clean.
Later that night I was at a local vintage stock getting a movie and struck up a conversation with a guy turns out he is driving a 80's GMC shortbus across America from philly to SoCaL , but heres the kicker we go outside to look at his bus he tells me nice truck and with all honesty asks me if it has a HEMI. but then again I guess not everyone is a truck guy. Now I have two more truck rallys to mount my slicks on. Was able to get my CD player installed went really well no pictures of the install. The dash was already cut and all the wiring was in place so I didn't run into any problems. This player is 180w and seems like it really beats harder and the sound is better than the CD player that got stolen. Also hit a pothole with one of my traction bars and it bent it. Really freaked me out when my trucks rearend felt like it polevaulted up.

Re: Project Physcobilly <shortbed build>
Wow man. When did you hit the pothole? And in your picture it shows the traction bar hanging. Is that from it hitting?

Re: Project Physcobilly <shortbed build>
Ya the picture of my truck with mikes burb you can see the bent and hanging traction bar. Damn Johnson county streets.
BTW the paint I used is some sort of epoxy paint AKA bridge paint.
