For the price ya can't hardly beat it. Liz almost wound up with the previous body style version of that truck before we scored the deal on her yukon....

Nawww...two of my best buds have those. You might hate the tall bed sides after awhile, but the rest of the truck is a winner. I like the color!

Looks good man. I think you will like that one better than the other F150 you were looking at. My dad just bought a new F150 like that one, and he absolutely loves it. Congrats on the purchase, and do you get the rolling pin included in the deal?

Nice buy Mike!
I actually used to own an '01 SuperCrew and that truck was really nice. Road well, decent mileage,... glad to see you were able to locate one.

Re: picking up a new (to me) '06 Sierra SLT
this thing is a freaking beast!!!!
drove it back from Delaware this morning... I like the aftermarket exhaust but it does resonate in the cab a little... my 3 year old heard me start it up and stated "this truck sounds pretty" that's my boy

Re: picking up a new (to me) '06 Sierra SLT
[QUOTE=msgross;3506833]final post... chastise me how you want... I found this on an obscure website today, 04 with only 37K miles... title in hand for $17K...
let me hear about it,this thing is pretty sweet though...picking it up tomorrow Well who can turn down a truck that comes with a rolling pin. So does that mean the wife has layed claim to this one? I agree with Kelly about the tall bed sides. I don't care for that but I do like the interiors of the fords pretty well. When I bought my last used truck I asked my dealer why he doesn't stock GM crewcabs and he said price! He can't seem to buy the GMs reasonable so he buys fords like these. When the wife gets ready to trade the Burb in we will give the fords a look too.

Re: picking up a new (to me) '06 Sierra SLT
For 17k I would have bought it too. As long as you like it who cares what brand it is. I like the new Fords more than the new GM's.
And the best thing.....It's Husker red!

All kidding aside with Ford vs Chevy, this is the meanest truck i've ever been in (including my hemi Ram). It's a 5.4L and really gets on it even though it doesn't feel like your doing 70, you are! It feels like a cocpit or a big piece of construction equipment... and for $4K below KBB with the topper it was a steal... I'm gonna pull the topper off for the rest of summer/fall then put it on before snow hits... What's your thoughts on Amsoil? and I get a little shutter when I turn a sharp corner, is the limited slip low on oil/additive? It's not bad but I noticed it... I grew up a GM guy but really like a good truck, this is a good truck...

Re: picking up a new (to me) '06 Sierra SLT
That 5.4 is a good motor....that's what my buddy has in his and he loves it!!
Glad you got a good truck. I have owned several Fords in my past....that new 'little' supercharged GT 500 is a looker. If I had the cash it'd be stitting in my driveway right now.

Re: picking up a new (to me) '06 Sierra SLT
I would have to agree with you. My dad is a diehard Ford guy. He bought a Chevy pickup new in 64, didn't like it, and has owned Fords ever since. My uncle on the other hand is the opposite. He bought a F150 new in 73, didn't like it, and has owned GM ever since. I'm kind of in the middle. I like both, and it really just comes down to who has the better model at the time. In my opinion they have flip flopped back and forth over the years. Some models I like GM better, but lately I have been drawn more to the F150's.
In my garage I have a 03 Mustang, and a 03 GMC so I am splitting the difference. As far as the tall bedsides the new Chevy/GMC trucks have tall bedsides too. That and the trucks in general are taller. My dad traded in his 96 F150, and bought a new 09 F150. He said the 96 had more ground clearance, but the 09 F150 2wd is taller than my 03 1500HD 4wd. |

Re: picking up a new (to me) '06 Sierra SLT
found an awesome deal on amazon last night...
new lund snap tonneau cover for $41 shipped! this morning they changed it to $130 (which is still half price)... I'm not a fan of the snaps but I couldn't pass the deal up.. and I have the shell for the winter so the tonneau will be removed anyway... I did find out though that 04 Fords (all of them) have issues with the limited slip shudder... Fords fix is new clutch pack, heavier oil and additive... I'm gonna do the last two and let it be for now, it's not that bad and only does it truning left...
