Re: new guy with a 52
here's how the front rims and tire's worked out, the tires are 195/75/r15, i have lots of clearance betwwen the tire and fender when the wheels are turned
i ordered a set of rear leaf springs from Landrum, chrysler style with a 5" arch and a spring rating of 150lbs and the front spring perchs and the pads to mount the 9", so thats next on the agenda |

Re: new guy with a 52
well i had some more time to work on the truck. i've started to hang the 9", i used Landrum chrysler style asphalt late model springs with a 5.5 arch rated at 150lbs. i moved the front spring perchs to the outside of the frame to get the truck lower, have to gusset the perchs yet. i'm just waiting for my afco aluminum shackles to come to in to get the rear shackle mount made and figure the shackle angle and length i want to use

Re: new guy with a 52
What clip are you using? The install looks great. I sure do wish that I would have kept my original frame when I see such work as your's. Keep the updates and pix comin'

Re: new guy with a 52
the clip is from a 79 camaro, its a leftover from the old asphalt challanger days, had to use a camaro clip then everything back was a tube chassis

Re: new guy with a 52
here's a shot of the box on
we put the hood on to check how the sheet metal is gonna fit, the hood springs are holding the back of the hood up so i will have to figure out something, we have the hinges dropped down as far as they will go, i will be looking for a better hood, someone has done some welding down the centre and the hood is spread where it meets the cowl |

Re: new guy with a 52
there was a swap meet in waterdown a few weeks ago, i was away working so i missed it.
i havn't had much time to work on the truck lately, a few home projects and work are taking my time. i have to get back at it and mount the front bumper, then i want to slide the motor and tranny in to see what i have to do to the firewall and floor pan Scott |
