the longer studs would be so you have longer meat after the nut I have a lot more shims on mine and I have had no problems for 2 years

There a low budget solution to running out of stud. I like to make a solid spacer after the alingment so no shims

I took a 1" thickwall pipe and cut four sectons from it 1" long each for spacers on my blazer after going with the longer bolts. just welded washers to the end of them, so i didnt have many spacers. no drop spindles either, all i did was cut the thicker dually coils down and cut off the bump stop mounts. id say just make spacers or buy some nce beefy ones so you dont have to look at the stack you have now, if you arent worroed about the amount of threads stickng out, if so do the longer grade 8's
