Re: The CUCV that GM should have built

I was in West Germany in '83/'84 when the CUCV's were being deployed. I seem to recall some typical government FUBAR where all the CUCV's had been sitting in storage for so long that their warranty was about to expire. So for about 2 weeks there was nobody in any of the maintenance yards because they were all out driving aimlessly around putting mileage on the new trucks to see if they would break.

I worked for local county government in new mexico, they had about 3 acres packed with complete vehicles not being used. One of them was a 3/4 ton chevy truck with the camo paint like in the pictures. They just had an auction and im sure its gone now

Someone gave my dad a M36, Same as the M35 just long as hell. My dad said i could have it! Its been over a year, and i still haven't gone to pick it up. Its mostly complete, it rolls and is only missing some of the back tires and wheels.
Very cool truck, i feel dumb for not getting it yet.

Re: The CUCV that GM should have built

That would suck if they were all just scrapped. I wonder if they figured out the axles may bring more than a complete truck in some states?

No one ever said that what DRMO and GL (Government Liquidators) does makes any sense lol.
