Re: 71 c10 Dropmembered Driver

I think after being in AZ at the Good-Guys show and seeing Dinos stuff, 5window has a longer list than 500 things now!!! Glad to see you on the road with it. No one works harder than you at it.

Re: 71 c10 Dropmembered Driver

How do you like the manual rack? Is it easier to turn then a stock manual set up on the c10's? Did you have any issues with the bb and the dropmember?

Actully the manual rack is probally the only thing I would have changed on the whole suspension. I love the way it feels on the highway but parking lots with the weight of the BB and the 275 wide tire you definetly get a work out. The BB and the dropmember went togther fine. I answered a few of your questions in your other post. If you have anymore let me know.

Update!!

Here's a few pictures of what we call the snowball effect. What started out as a quick blend job has turned into a full out color change and total repaint. The inside of the roof is painted already to match what the top of the truck will be. It's going to be flat black on the top but the bottom color is still up on the air. I'll try to post more as more progress is made.

It's a maval/unisteer tall pinion sport ratio. With the tall pinion you can get away with only 2 steering joints and no support bearing.

I don't mind the 15's for now, they were what was on it when I started. I will probally powder the centers and roll them untill I can afford the vintecs.

Awesome truck! Subscribed!

On a side note, how do you like the Viair 480s with two 3 gallon tanks? Are the compressors loud? Do they fill the tanks pretty quick? I was thinking about going with the same setup.

Thanks! The tank and compressor set up seem to work about perfect for what I use them for. I don't try to hop it or hit the switches all the time, just raise or lower it. I have a 200psi switch and 3/8 line and it lifts fast enough for me. I can lift the truck about 2 1/2 time before they kick on and the refill time isn't too bad. I mounted the compressors with rubber isolators, I think you can see them in the pictures, when the truck is running you can't even hear them run.

It's not too much to look at yet ! I decide to paint it a little more modern blue. We took the bed back off to finish some body work, the doors and hood are edged in. The seat is at the interior shop getting recovered in some black leather and getting thinned out a little bit. Hopefully the cab and front end will be painted within the next week and I can finally start putting it back together. I also picked up an unwelded tank from boyd welding that I will be putting in. I will throw up some pictures as soon as i get something worth looking at. Thanks!

How's your project coming along?

I'm running air ride tech big red valves with 3/8" line. IMO they make the best stuff on the market. The accu air stuff looks like a nice setup but I haven't got a chance to use it yet. I like the manifold valves better than the individual , less plumbing + easier install.
