Re: 4150 Original Mile K-20

You can`t trust that mileage. It`s got to be at least 5,175.

Re: 4150 Original Mile K-20

The down side to the mileage is I don't want to drive it, because I just watch it go up. It was 150 miles away when I bought it- so I towed it to keep from accumulating.
I will get some chassis and engine bay shots for those interested.

Re: 4150 Original Mile K-20

You are very lucky to have found that truck. That's one of the nicest untouched 68's I've seen on here. I'm glad you are going to preserve it too.

We are all very envious!

Re: 4150 Original Mile K-20

Great purchase!
I believe that is the cleanest, lowest mileage truck I have seen!
You really need to take pictures of all the stickers, rubber hoses, routing of wiring and hoses, factory blemishes, etc. in order to document the originality for other forum members wanting to restore their trucks. I think this would make a great Sticky thread.

How many times has someone wondered if something done to their truck was original? Yours would make a great truck to compare to, especially if you see something that doesn't seem right.

Have fun with the truck. I know I would have a hard time putting very many miles on it!

Re: 4150 Original Mile K-20

WOW! That truck is incredible!

Think about this... if it had the oil changed once a year, it's had one done about every 100 miles- I don't think you have to worry about sludge

My '72 was bought by my X's dad from his rural dept. around 1976, with about 6000 miles on it. Wish I could find some pics from back then.

Musuem piece or not, I'd drive it

Then again, if I bought it, I'd scrap the bed and put a shorty on it

Great find!

Re: 4150 Original Mile K-20

How did you find it? How was it sold? My guess is sealed bid? I am kind of surprised that didn't hit these forums before you bought it since every 67-72 advertised on CL ends up here.

From this photo, it looks like there just is not too much gas in the tank. Boy did you make a mistake. Better luck next time.
