Re: Gear Shift lever
This is in response to post #18 and #25. I have the same issue, I have a 70 K5 with a 3 on the tree(original) and i am needin a shift lever due to the tip breaking off. All aftermarket shifters measure .375 thick at the area where the pin connects lever to column. The thickness of the original is .4770. I have checked numerous others at car shows an swap meets and find that most are .4770 But i cannot find where to purchase just a lever with this thickness. Maybe the levers were thicker in 67-68 but when ordering they say they're all the same. Any help on finding the thicker one would be appreciated. Thanks

I guess your only options would be to find an original one at a salvage yard or purchase the replacement and put a shim or shims in to make up the difference.... LockDoc
