Re: Tool chest opinions
Its a nice box, but I would hesitate on a stainless box personally. Go to sears, harbor freight, pawn shop, craigs list.... even see what the snap on/mac/matco guy has (lots of repo boxes right now) and see what you can get for that price in a powdercoated/painted box.

Re: Tool chest opinions
Hey Man, I have the US General one from Harbor freight, In my opinion it's right up there with the other name brand boxes, but for half the price. I have 900 950 in my boxes. Thats top bottom and side box. when I get some extra green, I'm gunna get the side cabinet they have out for it now.

Re: Tool chest opinions
They do have some nice ones. I never thought to check them out. I like this one for the money. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SU...3/?image=large

Re: Tool chest opinions
I bought mine at Sam's. It might not be as big, and doesn't have a fridge but it was much cheaper.
As mentioned they have them at Sam's or Costco that are stainless. For the average shop they are big enough to hold pretty much everything. I'm not sure why there is opposition expressed toward stainless. After several years mine still looks like new, and it was no more expensive than a painted/powder coated box.

Re: Tool chest opinions
I've never had anything stainless in a shop that I liked. Even polished stainless shows too many finger prints for me.
Maybe I just keep my box too clean. |
